Strange Raiden II version

Post by Samuel »

Yesterday I went bowling and I found a Raiden II cab, but it was an unusual version of the game:

-player 1 ship was blue instead of red
-player 2 ship was yellow insteas of blue
-straight laser shot was yellow instead of blue
-wide scattered shot was light blue instead of orange
-enemy bullets were light blue instead of orange
-the rendered ship in the intro was yellow
-other particulars that I remember being red/orange were blue as well (not sure which though)
-purple shot remained purple :)

I don't think it simply was a busted color chip, colors were nice and blended very well, and there were too many variations in the various blue/light blue/yellow/orange undertones.

And I'm fairly sure it wasn't a bootleg either, titlescreen was properly copyrighted Seibu Kaihatsu (plain official Seibu Kaihatsu too, no fancy Metrotainment/Fabtek licenses).

Did anyone ever see this besides me? (BTW I live in Italy)

bad monitor or bad video connection.
The Green wire of RGB was probably loose or the monitor a bit f*cked up.

*waiting for other member to prove me wrong and tell me that there is indeed a bootleg Rainbow Edition Raiden game*

But shouldn't a bad connection show bad colors on all the pixels?

Everything in the backgrounds, both ground and air enemies, bosses... all were exactly the same as in regular Raiden II, the only things with changed colors were player's ship/shots and enemy bullets.
