Mushihimesama Arrange or whatever it is that's on the HD release. The orchestral title screen music alone is enough to get my fizz going.

Ridiculously good cover of METAL SLUG 3 - DESERT (STAGE 4-1 BGM) that could easily pass for something off the classic SNK Arrange Sound Trax albums.

Been listening to this off and on. Vocal songs are stupid as all hell and there are few too many remixes of the same songs, but otherwise pretty decent album. Favorite remix is still the first one I heard: Primrose. Fits in so much better with the rest of X8's music than the original did.

NON's ALONE'Z from ALIEN SOLDIER. It certainly is THE MOTHERFUCKING THEME OF FINAL BOSS. Death march into decadently strung-out synth solo hell.

Oh god damn, will have to check this out. Zabutom's "ZETA FORCE" is one of my favourite not-VGM albums ever, still on my MP3 player well over a year since I bought it. On cold miserable mornings at the bus stop "BLAST OFF INTO SPACE" will always pep me up and remind me to chase the degree at all costs, death is not an option! Ubiktune do good stuff.

Used it as my ringtone for a while in college, the explosions and demonic howl would always get a few laughs / concerned looks at the end of a long day. Best ringtone ever next to "GET TO DE CHOPPAAA!"

The Adventures of Star Saver - can't find OST without gameplay footage, so don't look if you want to avoid spoilers.

It's been a while, but I've saved a few YT vids and converted their audio to mp3 by entering the video URL at http://keepvid.com/, saving the biggest file possible, then using Foobar 2000 to convert the resulting file (usually MP4). It's not ideal, since you'll go from one lossy format to another, but acceptable if maximum quality isn't an absolute priority. Works fine for earbuds, I find.

I think you could also extract the audio to WAV and then compress that to mp3, not sure if it'd help at all though (would probably just bypass Foobar's warning about transcoding). YT's format is lossy to begin with, of course.

Glad you liked it! Had to blast it after hearing it again on my home speakers. Such a short but concentratedly brilliant album.

Stage 4 - Persian Mountains / Prison Camp: Mission Impossible (NES).
Music: Jun Funahashi, Yoshiyuki Hagiwara.

Konami had such an awesome NES sound driver that the sounds are always fantastic. Often the composition too, as in this case.

RefleX Original Soundtrack - Time of End

Said it before and will say it again: Siter Skain's talent for urgent, driving shooter mini-opera replete with double bass, dual leads and synth chorals is nothing short of Tecno Soft standard. This isn't quite as good as Hyakutaro Tsukumo's masterpiece The Justice Ray but to even bring it to mind is no small feat.

Bad Omen's OST may be my favourite on the MD ever. Well, near the top. Lots of good music on that machine.

Am I the last person to notice that there is now a Saturn equivalent to SID/NSF/SPC files? Here I was waiting for emulator authors to add an option to dump the 68K/SCSP state to a file specifically for this purpose, which I don`t think they have done, but it turns out some folks have already made some dumps anyway as well as creating a player.

I am a big fan of the Disgaea games, and the soundtracks have some great tracks like Laharls theme song.

I do have one of the OST's that came with Disgaea 3, but I'm playing the PSP version of Disgaea one, so this track is the one that came to my mind immediately instead.

I'd have to go with this one as my favorite from the first Disgaea:

Today I've been making the floor rumble by blasting Akira Yamaoka's Fukuro, or The Soundtrack to Pyramid Head's Sex Tape. RIP KCET's Silent Hill, you had a criminally underappreciated ear for bangin' tunes never more apparent than here. Or here.

edit: or here.

edit: or indeed here.

Well, that video is certainly, uh, something.

The Most - Fire and Forget

It's actually a song that the band commissioned someone to make a freeware shmup with to increase publicity. I don't think the band ever got very popular, but the game was actually a cool caravan shmup that lasted the length of the song and featured a rhythm element to shooting in the non-boss sections. Next to impossible to find a download link for it, if anyone wanted it I'd have to hunt one or upload it myself.

Bangin'? ^_~

In other news Ayako Saso's irresistibly jazzy Rolling Thunder 2 OST is ZTT-good. I think Rando may have already singled out this track ("Across the Tube") in this thread, but one good rec deserves another.
