If playing for survival maybe. But if playing for score, not by that much, when compared to Sakurako at least. Luca's high shot power actually makes it too easy to destroy enemies before they have a chance to shoot a large number of bullets sometimes, which can lead to fewer bullets getting canceled. So one has to be extra-careful when shooting sometimes. Her wider shot can make survival easier during levels, but puts her at a slight disadvantage against bosses (especially the level 4 boss). And then there's her familiar who can only have two shots on the screen at once, and since these shots arch, they can be a bit tough to aim as well. The size and duration of her barrier make up for that though.

It depends on the game mode also. I wouldn't recommend using Luca in Boss Attack. But she's great for Score Attack and Mind Blowing.

Nope. Luca is powerful, but it's all about abusing her magic circle to milk out bullets and coins. It can be equally as difficult to get a decent score.

I agree with you. Survival is definitely easier : I got the 1CC on my third run with her. However, that score I got is not that high.

The main game frustrates me a lot for unknown reasons - I feel underpowered all the time. I think I tend to overlook shops too; I'll go entire stages without refilling my spell stock.

Your score is dependent on those cards. once you know how each one is used, you will eventually have a standard order of cards you will use.

I quit boss rush when I got to 40-1. It repeats the difficulty after 30-1 I think.

there's no reason not to use the shops, other than the obvious spell cards which you 100% need to score you also get a short period of invincibility, time to recharge your barrier, chance for jules to appear etc
