Broken monitor advice- tube doesn't glow

Post by dpful »

I've got a nice arcade monitor-
1. The screen is black
2. The tube's not glowing
3. The screen still "charges up"-- er, gets static-y when turned off and on.

What do you think? Just the tube? Just the transformer? I don't know what's responsible for what. (I don't know whether it gonna cost 100$, 200$, or more. The monitor hangs in the balance- over the dumpster.)

Well, in the arcade collecting scene, I say there's no harm in having an extra monitor chassis on hand at all times :D

My recommendation is to pick up another (known working!) chassis and see if that fixes it. What kinda chassis is it?
