xrgb3 b0 b1 b2 b3 modes

Post by cyrion »

Hi all !
What are the differences between the 4 fpgas <=> modes b0 b1 b2 b3 of the xrgb-3?
I'm unable to find a clear answer on the internet, and I don't read japanese....
Is there somewhere a translation of the paper notice?

(from http://retrogaming.hazard-city.de/ :)
B0 : full processing (incl. scaling to resolutions from XGA (1024x768) up to WUXGA (1920x1200).
B1 : XRGB-2+ operation mode (linedoubling only)
B2 : ?
B3 : ?

I read somewhere that B2 and B3 may be disabled ; I also read that B2 was for "higher resolutions" (what resolution?)...

Thanks !
C.

B2 had been used on older firmwares to apply widescreen resolutions. Those have been merged with the B0 firmware though at some point. Now B2 is used for the screen capture function which is available with the latest japanese FW (not with the english one). B3 has never been used so far.
