I think you mean, "Yeah, my arcade has Ibara in place of DFK 1.5 now, so I can play Ibara until further notice."

Fucking jealous.
Yeah I really haven't figured out Ibara yet though. The concept of intentionally suiciding to ease the rank does not stick well with me so Ibara demolishes me left and right. Plus I was never a huge Garegga/Bakraid fan in the first place which this is heavily inspired by. I really need to look up how to play it though, maybe learning how to actually use the Hadou-Gun will change everything for me.

I wonder why it took so long to occur to me that the biggest turn-off to these games (which happens to be "suiciding to lower rank") is actually a total illusion. The real reason you suicide in these games is for points.

"Suicide for points?!" you ask? Why, yes! Suicide for points!

You see, one of the most basic (and yet seemingly least understood) mechanics of every good Raizing game is that wonderful gift from Yagawa: bombs upon respawn. Bombs are the biggest single source of points in Ibara and make up an enormous portion of possible score in Garegga, Bakraid, and Batrider. I'm not going to go into detail, because fuck that, lol, but just think of auto-corpsing as the step after "action ______" in the optimal scheme of scoring. It's really that simple of a mindset change, and away you go. Have fun playing the manliest game ever. That's what it's for. So fucking jealous. Somebody buy me a TV or a cabinet or something, my PCB is just sitting here; its siren silence screaming so softly at me every day. "COME LOVE ME! PLEASE! I CANNOT GO ON WITHOUT YOUR WARM, PASSIONATE TOUCH!" However, I am powerless to oblige. I think I'm going to write this game a fucking love poem.

The moral of the story is that the only time you actually need to care about unique mechanics in these games is to fix something you broke when trying to copy a superplay lolololol

Nice work, time to do a couple more Arrange runs I guess.

I managed to acquire a video capture device, so I recorded some of my best 1.5 runs to Youtube in case anyone wants to see them.

B-Power:

C-Strong:

And here's a not so well scoring C-Strong Ura 2-ALL as a bonus:

I know it's not related to DFK by repeatedly bringing up Ibara, but I finally looked up everything about it I hadn't known before(order of item drops, ship sub-types, actually using the Hadou-Gun, bomb secrets for more points.)

Needless to say, I've been researching for the past couple of days and listening to the soundtrack which kicks ass as well. I get to head over tomorrow to play it and see what I can do with what I learned...probably not much but oh well I just wont go for optimal scoring for the time being. I'm beginning to look forward to it as well, because I usually get more "in-tune" with a game whenever I know that I can rock out to a specific track I know is about to play on whatever stage.

On a more related note, who around here still plays DFK in any version/style? What would be God right about now is if they had DFK and Ibara side by side to go back and forth from where I'm at.

I just started playing DFK again today, haha. Got a 1-4 chain down with A-S now which should make for around 80b total if all goes well. I guess after that is learning stage 5, which will take a while... at any rate, I'm coming to get you, RDP. :P

Sinmoon bested his old BL Arrange WR.

Sinmoon - 4,709,156,847,607 - HIVAC-ALL

Replay is available on the leaderboards. He gets 3.3兆 on Hivac, missing about 1-1.5兆 due to mistakes (dying inappropriately on Taisabachi and killing Doom's last form too quickly).

I want to get into Arrange A again, but I really wanna know how the hell kuchiniko or whatever makes about 11 whatever (pretty much double the next highest score iirc). There's got to be some secret trick or something.

I think that technique is the usual "get the chain as high as possible as early as possible", just twice more efficient than the next highest score.

So on a night I should be studying for finals...this happens...

Ratikal - 1,078,900,278,992 - Arrange A - 2-5 Omote

Stage 5 isn't actually too bad. Just always keep hyper active and destroy the lasers with the hypered Boost Laser.

Always 360 1.5 C power

Code: Select all

05. Third_strike - *13,199,136,167 - 1-3
Is Laser pattern in stage 2 mid-boss luck or can I do something?

I don't think it's luck, but I can't help you with precise instructions either. :(

Why not B-Power, though?

Because C-Power is better. 8)

The laser spheres are aimed based on your position somehow, but the midboss itself moves randomly. It's still possible to manipulate it.

Type C seems easier to play. People in this place seems like Type B, I would love know why.

Well could be a few reasons in that Type-B is the "balance" one of the three ships and it's true potential is only limited by the player using it. It's the most technical but has decent speed, controllable shot direction(a + and a - at the same time), and it's a badass mofo helicopter :p

and a noteworthy switching between modes in Power mode as there is BARELY any lag in between when you switch from Boost-->Normal OR VICE VERSA before you can laser again. This is amazing as you can go from Normal-->Boost and laser a split moment later, useful for dealing with laser armageddons when in hyper . Since the extra sidegun pods appear/disappear in an instant(no slow extending/retracting when switching like in the other two Power ship styles)

It's just a fun ship as well but just being distinctly different from the other two ships seems to attract a bunch of people to it.

05. Third_strike - *71,641,164,582 - 1-4
This score came from 1-1,1-2 and 1-3 full chains.
I would love know the real conditions to get the special midboss in first stage.
And thanks ResumeDPosition.

In a nutshell(this assumes 1.5, any other version I dont know for sure):
*On stage 1 you have to make sure that none of the big tanks run over any of the silos(excluding the 2nd big tank that comes out on the right side just above the 1st big tank)
*Have full hyper on the "warp" spot shortly afterwards
*not 100% sure if you need to pick up all 3 bees but honestly you may as well pick them up anyways.

After this, you have to make sure on every stage that you don't die at any point during = when you see the new mid bosses of each stage up to the WARNING logo before the stage boss. If you die in between these two parts, you will lose the warp path. There is a way to get back on a.k.a lose the warp on stage 3, play normal stage 4, play warp stage 5. I dont know how this happens but I did it pretty often in the past. Your score is more or less shot once you are thrown back into the normal loop though.

Good luck consistently getting the alternate path, I found it to be a frustratingly strict thing to do consistently once I played this game again after a 5 month break...to this day I still miss the warp in the beginning sometimes.
