Anyone here with a Darius Gaiden PCB?

Post by nimitz »

I'm doing some work on the mame driver, and I got some nice progress already.

That being said, I would need someone with a pcb to check some stuff for me, especially zone H.

What actually needs improvement in the MAME emulation?
Of course, that's just an opinion.

There's a lot of graphics effects that don't work. You can see them if you play the version in Taito Legends 2.

I wish I could but I'm afraid it'll install Starforce on my computer if I run the actual program. I run all my Taito Legends 2 games through MAME. Doesn't it use a modified version of MAME anyway? All the ROMs use the same MAME names.

Can you name any effects in particular?

Actually I'm not even sure Taito Legends 2 is completely right.

Another part I'm really wondering about is the death of a boss + level transition recorded on pcb.

Well I just did a quick play through on Taito Legends 2 using a boot partition I don't particularly care for (using a no-CD patch in hopes it prevented Starforce installation), and I'm not really noticing any differences at all between it and a typical MAME emulation, except maybe a little bit of screen tearing (no V-Sync option in Taito Legends 2?); and I've played Darius Gaiden in MAME literally hundreds of times.

I think Alien Sodier is selling a Darius Gaiden PCB, but I might be misremembering.
