Tucked away on Duranik's Facebook (from 22nd October) is a snippet of information:
There were delays from both sides, as there has been a lot of stuff added to the game, all this also had to be tested etc.. There is a test run of pressed cds beeing produced around the next two weeks, if this works fine on all our DCs full production will start.
So potentially not much further away. Hopefully. Maybe.

There was no real new news about this release over Christmas except for a couple of posts on the on the Duranik Facebook page:

1. There was a delivery of Sturmwind test disks

2. They were testing the game on a ton of different Dreamcast models.

I'm kind of on the fence about ordering this one. It looks fantastic, and both the graphics and sound design appear top notch. If the programming is as good, it'll be solid. But, I'm worried it'll be far too easy for any experienced shmup fans. I'm watching this 'hard' playthrough, and not seeing anything that's not trivial to avoid :(

I came pretty close to pre-ordering, but I guess I'll see what the impressions are of the gameplay first.

Man these graphics are top notch! I hope they was following the gameplay criticism and made the game solid. I heard Plasmo was part of the BT team so I have high hopes for this one.

Duranik Facebook post from May:
Sturmwind Design Goals

We got some questions regarding difficulty level and bullets.
So we want to speak a little about that and clarify some things.
Our design goal from the beginning was to get the game playable
and accessible for every Dreamcast fan, these are not necessarily also hardcore shmups players.

So there are no bullets in the game ?
Yes there are, there are different sections in each level with some
bullet patterns, these are still very little compared to games focusing on these gameplay aspect.

But i love my bullet hell shmups, so this game sucks!
Well if you are totally into these games, stay away from Sturmwind, its probably not for your taste, there are lots of other options to play if you like these type of games, in fact the majority of all shmups today are some sort of "bullet hell".

We wanted to create something different, every player should be able to see a lot of the game, not get frustrated after the first or second level.
There are lots of little hidden things to discover in the game and we want the players to find them and finish the game.

Yeah, I do understand that not every game has to be aimed at us-- there was a time when I really liked games like Tyrian because of the graphics, sounds, and number of options you could equip your ship with. Back then I didn't care much for game balance or, to be completely honest, games that required a high degree of accuracy and skill.

But with Sturmwind I'm hoping for just a little challenge, especially if there's a hard mode. I'd be totally down with it if it's at least as challenging as a game like Thunderforce III (on normal) when the difficulty is maxed. If there are enough hidden goodies scattered throughout the level, that might be enough to keep me playing.

The graphics are certainly impressive, but I still on't see why the hard mode should be so easy. After all, people pick it because they want a hard game... and good God, that music made me want to pierce my eardrums Ichi style. Even worse than the most generic trancy Namiki bullshit.

There probabably were years I completely forgot about it.

Really hoping it is finally out soon indeed. :)

Well I'm hoping for at least some info by the end of March, because by then it'll have been 3 months since they sent me an email telling me they were testing discs.

According to Duranik's Facebook page, everything's set their end and we're just waiting on Red Spot Games to announce something.

Spring 2011 according to the first page of this thread. Two weeks until spring 2013...

First I thought, 'it can't be that long' and then I checked my own order date and yes, there it was - December 2010. Hopefully it'll be well worth the wait!

Strange they haven't updated the website with this information. You'd think they'd want to build some excitement with the most number of people as possible, not just the ones who happen to be on their mailing list.

Or updated the ones who've actually pre-ordered and even paid for it for that matter.

I'm interested to see how this turns out... I ordered 2 a while back but then got a little nervous when they were not updating very often and way over deadline and politely asked for a refund (there FAQ says its no problem) but after 3 or 4 attempts I never received a response? Would be nice to get them or at least a refund.....hell a response would be nice at this point....

They updated me, I pre-ordered and paid.

But yeah, shame this thread hasn't had a lot of hype today, because we could've gatecrashed somewhere like gamefaqs, that puts up the popular posts of the day, and just all copy and paste responces from here XD

Not spam, just all respond to the date thread on the Sturmwind forum.

It seems people with older orders never received any updates by email.
I don't really care, provided they dispatch my copy on day 1.

I just made a ticket for an order confirmation for the Le I bought in 2011 , when i ordered there was no email news subscription so that's apparently why I got no email conformation .
I just subscribed on their website so that wont happen again .

Bring it on Bitches !
