VirtualDub:

1. Add Filter: rotate (if neccessary. Not neccessary if you record natively in Tate)
2. Add Filter: Resize -> Framing Options: Letterbox/Crop (enter a 4:3 or 16:9 resolution, so the video doesn't get stretched on youtube). Fill color defines the color of the added borders. You can either add borders on the side only or on all four sides.

If you don't want Youtube to resize your video, make sure your final format is 480 lines in height...
