Red wire is +5V and Yellow is +12 Volt:

Molex 4-pin Peripheral Power Connector Pinout (ATX v2.2)
Pinout Table for Molex 4-pin Power Connectors
Pin Name Color Description
1 +12VDC Yellow +12 VDC
2 COM Black Ground
3 COM Black Ground
4 +5VDC Red +5 VDC

I hope this helps. Also, thanks for asking this, I've added comments explaining it on my website article as well.

Thanks emphatic!! :) Curious, what specifically does "Output Delay Scan Lines" (dip 2) do? I know the manual says it'll resolve tearing issues, haven't noticed a difference on either On/Off @ 15khz.

Yay, it works! Wired up a gp2040 (NAND UsbdSecPatch) enables xinput on rgh 360's. :)

Random question someone may know the answer to , I use a Ultracade uvc to convert the output of my naomi at 31khz to 15khz for fighting games to avoid the 15khz interlaced modes. Is there a reason it changes the width of the video output, in 31khz it fits perfectly, but once converted down to 15khz and sent over a jamma fingerboard I cant expand the image wide enough to fit the screen after capping my horizontal adjustment (cps2, groovy, mvs, etc at 15khz dont have this issue, so I dont think its a hardware switch thing on the chassis for wide vs narrow), it covers maybe 90% of my screen. Vertical resolution stays fine, is this normal on the uvc for the horizontal to be squished in after conversion? It works perfectly outside of that, just a minor annoyance I guess :)

Edit: was talking to Fudoh and he said, Naomi outputs at 720x480 with a 640x480 image inside, so its the borders of that output that are also getting converted which is prob causing the issue. Just fig i would post it here so if anyone is searching 5 years from now for the same answer ;)

When I was researching my naomi issue posted above I also saw Fudoh's website about using an extron to shift the lines, I had totally forgot about this when I picked up my UVC years ago. If you are using the UVC to downconvert pixel doubled games, I highly recommend getting an extron with vertical shift, it makes a huge difference. Thanks to Fudoh for answering my questions while in the search.

Example of fixing Naomi titles that are pixel doubled, so far I have test MvC2, CvS2, and NGBC and the results are all the same as below. Fixes shadowing and incorrect pixel art on lines that it shouldnt be there due to the wrong merging.

Naomi scaled down with UVC (notice first 3 lines of his hair)

Man, I’m glad I don’t use/need a UVC (do have an Extron with V-shift tho!), that’s a definite “cannot unsee” which would drive me nuts, haha

My UVC didn't look too good on my Astro City until I bought a Extron RGB203RXI , once shifted vertically the picture looked pretty much perfect with PC and 360.

Is the Extron inserted after or before the UVC?

it's a source adjustment, so before the UVC.

If I want to buy an Extron unit for this purpose and nothing else, what device is recommended?

Either a RGB201RXI or RGB203RXI , not the most reliable things though. I've had 2 break on me , one I think I've fixed by recapping the psu and main board but I need to test further to see if it's really fixed 😅

Doh , now you worrying me haha. I bought a basically NOS one and I can recap so guess I'll be ok. Did you by chance leave yours plugged in all the time?I noticed they keep running even with no signal and put it on a wi-fi plug.

My RGB160xi had cheap Chinese caps in it except for like 2 Nichicons on the main board, recap didn't fix it so I need to troubleshoot it some more, pretty sure it's a component on the PSU.

I bought one and after about 3 days the blue signal stopped working so I luckily got a refund on that unit. The other one was working fine for about a year and then started losing signal (black screen), I recapped that one and seems solid now but havnt tested it for more than a couple of hours.

I think the word needs to be spread a bit more that the 201 and 203 are NOT the only ones with vertical shift, because those ones are absurdly overpriced.

Any of the 202 variants have it, they have a 9pin input but you can buy adapters for SCART and VGA on the VGP website. These are the same pinout, too:

https://www.ebay.com/itm/353586284629

There’s also the 130xi which you can find dirt cheap (that’s another one with 9pin input).

There’s the RGB 109 (not 109xi) but those are really old and I’d be wary.

There’s the RGB 108 which is also an iffy-looking older one. This and the 109 at least use a regular VGA connector. There’s a “108 Universal” on eBay right now which looks nicer than those, but that also has a 9pin in.

There’s also a bigger rack mount style on with vertical shift, unfortunately I can’t remember that one off the top of my head. Just search “Extron RGB” on eBay every now ‘n then; there’s others with vertical that you can get for 1/4 the cost!

EDIT:

Obviously the price on this is ridiculous, but it’s worth checking out Inline products. Basically the same shit as Extron; they were even absorbed by Extron (or were a subsidiary to begin with):

https://www.ebay.com/itm/176552306474

There’s also RGB interfaces made by Altinex and COVID (unfortunate name lmao, their interfaces are called ‘EZPIX’.

Thanks for the update. There's a bunch of 130xi on eBay right now for only $20; ordered one.

I guess the only cable needed is BNC to VGA? To go between the 130xi and UVC? Because the VGA cable between Naomi and UVC now plugs into the VGA input port on the 130xi.
