For a long time now, I've been wanting to make a MAME cabinet, but I don't have $250 to do so (I'm 16, getting money is pretty difficult if I can't get a job dammit) I have the general idea how I would make the screen and The controls (X-Tank) I just need some plans that are simple and inexpensive. Can some one help me out? I've found a lot of different blue prints, but they are to fancy and there are no way I'd be able to make them.

I've heard that there are free cabs to be had on Craigslist. I know someone that got one of the old "Big Red" Neo Geo cabinets for free. He just had to go pick it up. I think i read on this very forum a while back about someone else doing the same.
..Seriously, unless you have the correct tools and are willing to spend the money on the wood (not cheap) you're better off buying an old cabinet for $50.00 or less and then restoring it to your liking.
