I'll post a score soon. The deeper aspects of scoring in this game is a fucking mystery though to me, no replays on the leaderboards =[ But the general way to get points is to combo the fruity pebble looking things before the chain runs out.

Yeah it's still a bit of a mystery to me too. Here's an old Youtube video where the player shows some mad skills and chains the whole first level. It'll be a while before I can pull off anything like this....

Thanks, it was a while ago but I'm pretty sure I ran out of time at the last boss, so I think the HS table in game doesn't record them (since mine just looks like --:--:-- or something)

Push the rank up by no missing the early stages, do the mission stages (you need to do these anyway or you'll run out of time) , fully chain the levels (not as hard as it sounds) and milk the respawning enemies when you can. Higher rank = bigger chains. (and bigger risk of death.)

OK, I'll record it as that

There's a few parts of the game where you can infinitely milk respawning enemies for points (I think the sky stage is the most popular level for this). Supposedly on the superplay DVD the player does this for 10 minutes or so, which I think is the secret to getting really high scores. According to this the WR is 737 million with Fululu, so there's definitely some trick to boosting your score.

Yeah it's pretty hard to read the names on the character select screen, I had to go into practice mode to find out what they were called. I think you played with Mamoru.

I've seen the DVD, I can see how the player does it but I can't pull it off. It's not 10 minutes, more like 5 for a chain of about 30k. I've got a cat jumping all over me as i write this

I just started playing this game and, as expected, I'm confused.
I think I'm starting to understand the whole cursing/special attack thing, but what i don't get is the timing for the chain. How do I preserve it, how do I know I'm losing it?

There are 3 ways to keep your chain from breaking

1. Collect one of the multicoloured items that appear when you desrtoy a cursed enemy.
2. Put the curse on a large enemy.
3. Put the curse on yourself.

When you collect an item for your chain you've got about 2 seconds to do one of the above to keep your chain going. If you put the curse on a large enemy and it wears off before you've destroyed it then your chain will break immediately, so make sure you charge your curse shot sufficiently so that it lasts long enough for you to kill it. And make sure you collect an item as soon as you do kill it.

Been enjoying this game, but are there any other tips to where the milking tricks are? The only videos I found to mass milkage is http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IdDPKKlp ... re=related. However, in a preview to the superplay DVD, the person was at this stage with 550M. So, there must be some other tricks before this stage. Some people have said the "aerial stage" but I've checked and I didn't really see any infinite spawning enemies.

Is it bad that I think milking like this is actually really fun.

What is demonstrated in that video is what I do, push the rank up high and then go to Karakuki(?) Castle and try to get as big a chain as I can. Though that video is done in practice mode with the rank turned up to maximum, I don't think you can get it high as that in an actual run.

Regarding the big milking trick in the game, I have yet to be convinced that the Sky Garden milking trick can be done in the 360 version. In the DVD the player manages to get loads of flying enemies to infinitely spawn out of the 3 large enemies that are just before the Sky Garden boss. Maybe I'm not doing it right but it just doesn't happen in the 360 version. I've copied the player's actions move for move and the best I can get is two enemies spawning every 5 seconds, not enough to chain with.

I don't know if it can be done on PS3 or not.

And yeah you can fully chain all the levels (except the sea one) with a bit of practice, it's not too hard.

Was genuinely surprised at how bad my scores are for this one considering I platinumed and comped it. Will come back to it one day, since it's probably my favorite Grev shooter.

HEX - 3,147,570 - ALL - Nowa
HEX - 2,455,900 - ALL - Mayuno

Mero, would you happen to have a clip of how the milking works? I think I got it down sort of in the arcade version on Naomi. Btw, anyone know how to unlock Fululu in the arcade mode? I need my kawaii fox girls to play this game right.

It's no problem, though I'll have to put Mame/Naomi in a seperate table.

I quickly made this this morning, crap quality shot on my phone but you can see what's happening. It's hard to set up but even if you lost a life in the process you should still be able to get a big chain once it's set up.

I don't know how to Unlock Fururu on the Naomi, she's available straight out the box in the 360 version.

Yeah, thats exactly what I thought it was. I had tried it out on Naomi and that's exactly what I was doing. Maybe they removed this trick on the 360 version to make it more balanced. Whats the top score on the leaderboards? Maybe if theres different versions, I'll play the 360 one.

I can't help you unfortunately as my 360 isn't connected to the net, though I would like to know that myself.

that's one of the things that disapppoints in this game
a top score isn't even an ALL, all it boils down to is endless milking

HEX - 16,992,610 - 4 - Fululu

Man, Fululu is so far and away the best character for scoring it's hilarious.

This score made top 5 PS3 leaderboards fwiw.

The top Mayuno score on the PS3 leaderboards is only 9 mil so I'm gonna shoot for that next. I think it would be nice if we had by-character leaderboards here since each character has very different scoring potential.

Glad I finally got back to this game, it's tons of fun!
