SF/SJ Bay Area Shmupmeet conclusion *group shot pic added*
The first Bay Area shmupmeet just ended, and we had a pretty good turnout with 6 members and some friends showing up (9 total). Thanks to Kage 8 for bringing the pizza, Shariar07 for bringing his saturn, psx, and some PC dojin games, and everyone else for chiping in with other various food/drink.
Bernard was the first to arrive, and quickly 1CC'd DDP on his very first attempt! Quite a sight to behold, given this was the first time he had ever played the real PCB on a 29" cab. 8 1/2 demonstrated some masterful chaining on DDPDOJ, and ESPRade skills. Outside of that, there weren't any other super high scoring runs (everyone else, including myself, are pretty much average players).
IlMrm and I will be posting some pics from the meet soon.

Thanks to Dave_K i was totally impressed at his setups man i was shocked it was a like a arcade joint, got my first taste of Ketsui and like it a lot. It was really fun and exciting seeing other people play and learn a few tricks here and there, hopefully we can do this shmupmet again, maybe when Mushihimsama comes for PS2.
Dave is the man... All I can say is wow
Had my head spinning at the site ofhim game room for at least 10 mins... I probably just mumbled and said "damn" alot..

Dave, thanks again for making this shmupmeet possible. I appreciated the opportunity to play all these awesome games that I've never played before. And I guess I have someone local to consult when I start working with real arcade game hardware. :)
. . .
Now to all,
I wrote some impressions about the games that I've played in yesterday's meet, which you can find here:
Also, we were considering having another shmupmeet sometime shortly after Mushihime's PS2 release. I would like to start thinking about when we should do it now. Should I start a topic on this?

Yeah, Mushi's release would be a perfect opportunity. If Dave's willing, I say we go ahead and plan on it.
I'll be getting the game as well, so perhaps we could even set up multiple machines so we could have a bunch of people all on the same game. It'd be no problem to bring my J-PS2.

FULL LOCK is BOMB
Sorry for the delay, I just posted my pics in the thread on the main forum. Including the group shot.
