Hi Shmups Forum

Post by Nick420 »

Hello all.
My name is Nick im 26 and im from ireland.
I have been browsing this forum 4 a while now and i think its great. A great source for all kinds of shmup info :-)
So i thought it was about time i introduced myself :-)
Ive never used a forum before as im just 2 plain lazy 2 be bothered with em. However i think this forum is definitely something worth putting time into.

So I met a guy in college digs a couple of years ago and he had gradius v and strikers 1945 II I allways found shmups appealing but was put off by the extreme difficulty and i was really unaware of the concept of a 1cc or playing for score. Plus i was only really exposed to euro shmups hadnt played anything from japan before. So this guy changed all that when i saw him play, he was pretty good and it just totally opened my eyes to the awesomeness of shmups and ive been totally hooked ever since :-D
Im a total perfectionist so i tend 2 drive myself loopy trying to play perfectly rather than just casualy enjoying a game.lol but that just cant be helped

My favourite shmup is dodonpachi! by a country mile ;-) I am extremely committed to 1cc both loops. still a way to go yet tho :-/
Other favourites would have to be......
Touhou (imperishable night is my fave)
Dai Ou Jou
Mushi
Mushi Futari
Gradius V
Ikaruga
Harmful Park
Blazing Star
R-type
Axelay
Strikers 1945 series
Not really into classic style shmups like raiden so much. Much prefer bullet hell :-D Love any shmups with a good soundtrack. The soundtrack is almost as important as the gameplay IMO

So thats just a little about me. looking forward to many shmup related discussions :-)
As far as giving something back. I know pretty much all there is to know about emulators so mite be able to help abit there. Although i have a feeling that given the nature of shmups ye are all probably well up 2 scratch with ur emus anyways.

Shmups11.org once more is time for the festival mode!

Nick the empty headed sphere of the Irish has approached us with his massive weapon of Ireland which certifies that he has been attached to your lady of the football statue! Nick, when you arrived, you dropped exactly.

Believing in the game of Nick...he comes having in the dining table of shmup love! Nick it seems that because of the good list is the back section of the circular fine with shmupping!

Beware of the credit card fools of Ebay disaster, Nick! Those humid fuckers will try to deceive your Mastercard and Visa and peddle you an overpriced copy of Toilet Kids!

We welcome the Nick in order to attach his nostril to the world of time and pleasure at everything shmups11.org praises here! Have the shooting of playtime from the torpedo of your pink missile separated!

Nick is the complicated individual player of the game which includes the thrusting of his Irish sausage!

Hi Dr. Nick!

Christ I can't believe no one made that joke yet. Welcomes to shmups forum, land of crotchety old fools, self-righteousness and some of the best conversations you'll ever have. Shame you're a bit late for the STGT.
Look at our friendly members:

Welcome along. These boards are great for any little snippets of advice you need and have loads of high score threads you can post on to. DoDonPachi is superb, top choice.

Have fun.
