Battle Bakraid problem
My Battle Bakraid PCB is having problem displaying the sprites properly. The sprites seemed to "semi invicible" most of the time (like when you just recovered from death). It happens to all the sprites on screen, my ship, enemy ships and bullets making it unplayable. I've tried adjusting the 5v, the closest I could get is 4.6v (cannot power on) and 5.4v. Could it be the voltage problem? Or something else? Thanks.
Re: Battle Bakraid problem
Sounds like a power supply issue?
4.6 and 5.4 are way out, you need it around 5.15 under load, at the very most.

I guess you tried flexing the board and pressing on the chips. It should make them solid and then vanish when you find the fault. Often one one the square chips with the tiny legs- you could mount it to a board with a little flex if that was it.
Those voltages are fine- I'm sure it deosnt need more or less than that.
Could double check edge cleanliness..

Maybe I didn't understand the question, why can't the guy just set it to 5.0 or near and see if it works?dpful wrote: Those voltages are fine

Because I can't adjust it to the right voltage.. PSU problem.kernow wrote:Maybe I didn't understand the question, why can't the guy just set it to 5.0 or near and see if it works?dpful wrote: Those voltages are fine

As I thought. Might not be anything wrong with the board then, look into getting the PSU replaced, and don't run it for too long (if at all) at 5.4V , its not good for the board at all.

Pressing the chip really does helpdpful wrote:I guess you tried flexing the board and pressing on the chips. It should make them solid and then vanish when you find the fault. Often one one the square chips with the tiny legs- you could mount it to a board with a little flex if that was it.
