Best way to play Saturn shooters (regarding controllers)

Post by my_name_is_link »

Hi,

some time ago I asked about best way to play Dreamcast shmups and you suggested to get a Total Control Plus or Total Control 2 adapter.
Now I wonder, is there any adapter for Saturn so that I can use PS2's HRAP2. Or any controller specifically designed for the Saturn?
Tell me what's the best.

Besides that, I need to know if Saturn controllers/peripherals are region free (as well as Dreamcast's) or not.

thank you..

Total control make one for the Saturn as well I think.
This industry has become 2 dimensional as it transcended into a 3D world.

I'd like to get this:
http://www.play-asia.com/paOS-13-71-1i- ... 0-gyn.html

someone is selling at amazon as it is a Saturn controller.
Play-Asia page says it works with PC/MAC only yet... so I don't know...
maybe the Play-Asian one is a replica, and an original identic one for Saturn exists?

by the way... I found some info here, I post it, maybe someone is interested too: http://shoryuken.com/f177/saturn-stick-options-173839/

^Yeah that's a PC replica of the Saturn's Virtua Stick.
Also, there's the Hori Fighting Stick SS as an option, but apparently both of those come with mediocre parts and are in need of parts replacing.

I have a Saturn Virtua Stick that is identical to the pc/USB version above. Keep your eye on eBay as they come up frequently. Be weary of the twin version unless you want to sit very close to your opponent.

I wasn't very happy with the official Saturn arcade sticks, so I pad hacked a cheap third-party controller to use real arcade hardware and built a wood box to hold everything.

It's stupidly easy.

Building the case isn't, but the wiring is.

Yeah, the wiring doesn't take much skill. If you can track down a stick you like from another system that uses real arcade parts it wouldn't be much work to replace the guts with a Saturn controller. That way you avoid the need to build your own case.
