backing up a system 24 floppy disk
backing up a system 24 floppy disk
Does anybody know the procedure to backup a disk ? I remember reading a couple of years ago that one could access a special menu (service test + ?) to create a backup copy of the disk.

You have to hold down the service switch and then turn on the machine. The game will then instruct you as to what to do. You have to switch between original and backup disks quite often.
I don't have a service or test switch, so I had to connect the appropriate pins on the edge connector to ground to activate them. Bit of a nuisance but it works.

Yes, each game has its own floppy, which matches the security chip. First thing I do when I get a new board is back up the disk.GaijinPunch wrote:I should probably back mine up.

What's more, you have a Crack Down, which saves the high scores and other data on the disk, so it's good to have a backup of your own machine, just in case.
