Yeah, I'm so jealous of a Genetos run through on Creator that anyone can do with a little practice.

You should be careful calling something a "superplay" when it's just a regular old single-credit clear. I like to think that term is reserved for only the best.

C'mon MathU. Superplay is just the terminology for recorded runs now - it doesn't strictly need to be a WR or anything. Why dig at Kaiser for providing a resource like this? Voicing your discontent about something like this particular thread provids very little useful.

Ive always though super play shouldnt have to be a WR but should always be a high scoring run , this is not related to kaisers post im just saying .

I certainly know what you mean - I just feel compelled to defend Kaiser's efforts here. I'm sure his use of the term 'superplay' wasn't any claim to these being definitive examples of near WR-standard high end play in each game.

Well my superplays aren't certainly made or shown to be best of the best. They either show how to get through the game, how to get best endings etc. or a high score like clp says. I don't say i'm the best, there are many better players out there

. Either way, term superplay is not restricted to highest scoring or to best players around the world. For me as long as it's legit, it's 1cc and does not cheat/abuse, it is a superplay. (You should take a look at Battle Bakraid Advanced ALL or Zillion Beatz, pure example of superplays). I will repeat it again, I'm not the best player in the world, I do not claim i'm one. I do not say my superplays are near-WR quality and the term isn't restricted to highest scoring. That is all I gotta say about this.

Eh. You do realise I don't care about score in my replays right? I could score high when I would want to but either it's pain in the ass to do in the game like Bakraid or i'm just too lazy

When i'm done with both Dimahoo and Prizhm. I'll try to score more than 10+ mil in an ALL in batrider's advanced. I will proceed along with the secret project and some other game I will pick as well

Perhaps if you called them kusoplays you wouldn't have people harassing you about it, but either way, that's an impressive list, and after your Bakraid advanced 1CC got me interested in that game, I'll have to check out some of these other vids.

I thought I should drop in and say that i'm on a long-term hiatus from arcade/shmups until May/June. Playing shmups constantly for 4 months without any short breaks burned me out tons. yeah playing bakraid for 3 months non-stop, zillion beatz 2 months nonstop too and half-month of Dimahoo. Yeah I am tired, I have enough of that for now. Now, i'll only browse these forums and stay in contact. I need lots of will/strength to finish Dimahoo and something I will try to work on in future.

Nothing wrong with taking a break. I too got burned out after playing shmups almost exclusively for a year and now I'm playing other stuff, mostly on the PS3.

However, there are a few shmups I want to beat before I quit the genre for good, and Dimahoo is on the list.

Kusoplays should be replays with scores that are well below average for a 1CC, or contain some major fuckups. A 1LC doesn't really qualify as a KP. Not all replays should have to be perfect or max the score to be "superplays".

The Mercs replay is what I'd consider a superplay, even if it's not a counter stop. I have counter stopped it myself, but you need to leech like a bastard to do that (i.e. loiter near the end of stage 1 and kill enemies continuously until the timer is about 026). To get a world record on the arcade Rolling Thunder 2, you'd need to suicide away all but your last life at the end of stage 8, taking advantage of the restart to kill your way through it again. I know 720K+ is possible playing like that (I played on MARP as Malibu), but when I did the Youtube replay- I decided to just go for a 1LC.
