Sorry wasn't sure if i should put this in an existing thread...
Anyway, i got hold of an XRGB2+ recently and haven't been able to get it to work properly so far - it powers on fine and displays the menus ok, but when i turn on the input source - tried an ibara PCB through a basic supergun and a japanese ps2 (both through rgb scart then a scart converter that came with the xrgb) - the best i get is very brief views of the image (like i can see ibara working for a split second) then it goes blank for a few seconds and this keeps repeating. when it's blank i can't even see the menus.
i've tried changing loads of menu options, and the defaults, with no luck.
anyone recognise these symptoms? have any ideas what to try?
could it be incompatible with my monitor? i plan to try it with a different monitor soon.
Thanks

All of Micomsoft's products use the Japanese 21 pin RGB cable, which looks like SCART but isn't. It's got a different pin configuration.
Possibly that is the issue?

Do you get audio of any sort?
Try it with something composite or svideo beforehand just to eliminate it being a SCART connector issue.

yeah i know about the different scart pin outs, the xrgb came with a converter
thanks for the replies
not sure about the sound as i'm using a monitor at the moment, will connect it to some speakers for testing. i'll try some composite and svideo too - i guess it would be better to stick to non pal stuff for now so there's no 50/60hz problems?neorichieb1971 wrote:Do you get audio of any sort?

PAL stuff will not work, you need at least 60hz to make a compatible signal for VGA.

Thanks, i tried a few different cables and a different monitor, turns out it was the monitor (i guess not all monitors are compatable), so it's all working fine now

XRGB is sometimes incompatible with certain monitors, although I've not experienced any incompatibilities with the ones i've tried. I think LCD's are more likely to be incompatible.
