The Flying Hamster, upcoming Cute 'em Up for PSP

Kinda makes me wish I had a PSP, or for a DL playable copy on the PS3's network. Looks like this game could be a fun little civersion when you don't want to relax with an 'less serious' shmup.

The palette and design reminds me of the old Bonk Shooter on the TG-16, more than other cute 'em ups for whatever reason.

OMG, a hamster shmup! I LOVE Hamsters and....it looks a lot like AirZonk for the old PC Engine, one of my favs. Hope it turns out to be more than decent. Btw, I agree with evil_ash_xero on the gun-weilding penguins.

New shmups on the psp is always a good thing. The art direction is fantastic. As long as it's at least as good as Platypus, I'm sold. I'm guessing dlc, right? A full release would be really cool.

Personally, from these vids the gameplay looks like it's as solid as it is cute. Solid, basic formula but functionally well executed and everything looks well put together. I think my favorite gameplay example from the videos was the inside-a-pyramid style level where breaking the columns had the platforms falling down in a way that reminds me of those looping gradius levels.
