Depressing Northern Countries

Post by CIT »

Aaaargh! It's 4pm and it's already dark outside. I'm guessing it's already dark by 2pm in Stockholm and Helsinki now? :(

Nothing to do but stay in and play vidya-games during this time of year...

It gets dark at 4pm here in Helsinki. It is pretty depressing when you leave to work it's dark and when you get off from work it's also dark. There is no snow at all. It's actually raining now outside.

November is the darkest month here in Finland.

Good times for me still, I bought new 46" TV at last weekend and I'm enjoying my Blu-ray movies. :)

Dark by 2pm sounds kinda cool :) It might as well be here; it's dark when I get off work anyway.

Usually dark by 5 here when daylight savings time isn't in effect. Can't say I'm a big fan, but it does mean during the late Spring/ early Summer months we get daylight until nearly 10pm.

Few things in life get me down more than going to work in darkness, and leaving work in darkness.

Hooooooooly crap. I will never complain about the weather here in Az, as hot as it gets sometimes.

Personally I don't really mind as it also makes me feel less guilty of staying inside, internetting & playing games.
In the summer I love to do that as well, but seeing and hearing people outside relishing in the warmth of the sun somewhat makes me feel abnormal (which I may be, but don't want to feel like).

In nine months time a lot of people will look back fondly on this period mind you...

Also why not plan a short holiday to a place a bit more sunny in these ever returning times? :)
It does break the monotony of gray life here a bit & gives you some time to get some positive energy back.

I admit it gets quite depressing with the darkness and all, especially when there's still no snow... Which can be quite a while actually. Still, when the snow kicks in, we're in for a treat. After all, we did get a retarded 4.6 meters of snow 2 years ago.

A random vid I found of the fun times we had: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kKeWmSbDmfc

4,6 meters? Wow, that's a lot O.o
I live in southern Sweden, so I won't get any snow until february or something like that... and it will probably only stay for a week or two :P Then the rain starts... again... it's raining all the time now.. and it will for like 4 months... and it's windy.. Gah this sucks!
