Strikers 1945 2nd Round replay - By MILLS (London)

Post by Ex_Mosquito »

Okay, Here's the Mills Strikers1945 replay recorded at the London meet. Unfortuantly i was unable to attend but luckily Super Laydock caught the 2nd loop on video :) There are some seriously good shooter skills going on in this vid, Enjoy.

Again, Big thanks to Super Laydock for recording it.:) And respect to MILLS for such a good replay. :)

Ah, thanks a lot for hosting this.

Watching Mills doing this run at the London meet was a beautiful thing to behold.

Thanks to all those involved, I've been waiting to see this for quite a while. Shame the first loop wasn't recorded, I wanted to see Mills' 1-5 boss technique.

Awesome, thanks! I've been waiting to see the 2nd loop done by M.

Got a few questions. What was that mid-boss on level 7? The kid and then the guy in the trench coat? I've never seen that before.r

And how on earth did he figure out how to fight the crab miniboss on level 8 that way?

Now I need to go pick my jaw up off the ground.

Nice video!

I still haven't got my copy of 1945 for the PS2, I wasn't too bothered about it yet there's other shmups I want, but maybe I'll get it sooner.

There are three possible midbosses, and three possible endbosses as well.

There's something other than the crab endboss? I've never seen anything but that. Hmm... gonna have to start credit feeding.

Yep. I forget what the third boss is right now, but the one I run into most frequently is the plane.

I get an error message every time I try to play the file. Anyone else having this problem? It doesn't seem to be a missing codec.

I was watching a guy in Trocadero who went behind a couple of bosses like that. He was incredible.

Played it last night and finally got that midboss. Very strange, doesn't belong in this game. Yet, it's cool at the same time.

What isn't cool is getting that lander thing. The crab's patterns are easy and I'm most familiar with the plane, but the lander I've only seen twice. Today I died horrible, stupid deaths to it and wound up wasting a ridiculous scoring effort. 718,000 at the end of 1-7 wasted, and a 1-7 score somehow finds itself second on my list, above six 1-8 scores.

Ex_Mosquito - Many Thanks for hosting Mill's replay! (You're gonna have to come down and visit us sometime soon :D ).

Molloy - That must have been Mills at the Trocadero.

mannerbot - We decided to record the 2nd Loop only, fearing the length of downloading both loops.

I guess we must've killed Ex_Mosquito's bandwidth or something. I've uploaded the file here, get it before the link dies:

No problem; I got it-thanks!!

BTW, something tells me that we're not going to get the Strikers I and II pack here in the states-IGN lists it as being published by Play It-but if you get on their website, www.justplayit.com , there's NO mention of a US port-just the European one.

Oh well, I like II better anyway.

Yeah but the original is better. 8)

Also I don't get why you would get the impression that the Strikers bundle is coming stateside.

Did you ever bother to click the link?

I clicked the link, but I just figured that IGN was as confused as the rest of us were, when the Japanese Strikers I and II comp. was announced. So, I was hoping for a us release, but, like I said, if you get on Play It's website, they just mention the European port-no mention of a US one.

it's probably cheap enough to get it on import from european regions. it only cost me 6.99 in the shops in england so if you order it from a site it probably won't come to more than 20 quid

He's black, maybe thirty years old? He was wearing a suit and had a bag from sainsbury's. Absolutely risned the game. I was standing there with my mouth open. Think I scared him a bit.

hah i was there at the same time! Sainsburys bag with finger rolls, right? :) I remember there being a few other people watching at the time, too. I talked to him for a bit upstairs by the mame type cabinet about to rinse carrier airwing but for some reason it would'nt accept money.

You're right though it was a great moment, highlight of the day for me.
