Re: Sega saturn dragon force giveaway
Hi John
I've no interest in playing DF again, I sold it some years back. However I found you site content interesting. Yes Videogames have many positive effects like ones you mention however they are no substitute for the real practical thing, I find videogames stressful now and counter productive to my physical health, perhaps I have played to much or too competitively but I don't see the point of giving an addictive RPG like dragon force away. The said RPG will require 200 hours to complete with all characters, this game in particular does not generate the positive effects you mention, instead it promotes social isolation and sedentary activity.
I understand what you are trying to achieve in your website and I wish you the best of luck in that regard however I feel that videogames are too addictive for thier own good, perhaps you should give away a wii sports or puzzle related application instead?
Regards
Diabollokus

Hi Diabollokus,
Thank you for visiting my website.
The key word is "in moderation". I agree there are 2 sides of every issue. Positives and Negatives. Even the wii system and games has flaws.

Hey man, in the right situation, social isolation could be considered a positive effectDiabollokus wrote:this game in particular does not generate the positive effects you mention, instead it promotes social isolation

Guys, what are your thoughts of a import (japan/euro) game giveaway on December 31?

I honestly believe that the reverse of this situation has more truth to itDiabollokus wrote:The said RPG will require 200 hours to complete with all characters, this game in particular does not generate the positive effects you mention, instead it promotes social isolation and sedentary activity.

Interesting website highlighting the side effects of video games that the media prefers not to tell people about. Good show!
Also, I think an import game giveaway on December 31st would be a pretty neat idea. Just make sure that enough people who visit your website are of the importing sort first (or you have a stable Japanese fanbase).
