R Types with cheats? Shmups coverarts ?

I have a blast playing
Salamander and gradius portable on the PSP
overall because of the lives and difficulty settings

I was wondering if equivalents exist for the R Type series
(a pretty complete compilation?
and lives and difficulty settings on any of the game?

also
do you know of any site (there are no books or magazines I think) with art about shmup covers and designs,etc on the big families:
gradius, salamander, r type, (any family that I forgot?)

The closest R-Type has to a compilation is "R-Types" (PS1 / PSP), which has virtually arcade-perfect ports of R-Type I & II. Both have nice options (difficulty select, autofire, stage select, display adjust). It also has a pretty cool feature called "R's Museum" with lots of background info on the games.

No compilations with Leo, III or Delta, sadly.
