Best way to play mame on 42 inch LCD TV?

Post by Khan »

Hi currently my friend let me borrow his psp to check out the slim and lite's TV out function and im impressed I ve got my phat but am going to get a slim for the TV out function mainly because I can play neo geo and cps1/2 games on my TV full screen. This got me thinking there are loads of games I really want to play on my LCD TV can somone tell me which is the best way?

ive heard the xbox 1 can be soft modded and can play mame games more or less perfectly on TV? the other way is ive been told to use a PC to TV adaptor and hook my pc up to my lcd tv can somone please help?

Oh yea why does marvel vs capcom 2 on ps2 look to blurry with the sprites on my scart? is there a way to fix this?

:(

Thanks for the help.

You won't get full screen, but a letterboxed letterbox picture. (Yes, that's letterbox x2)

Imagine a 16:9 letterbox image containing a 4:3 letterbox picture. Only 25% of the pixels of your TV will be used.

lol, Sony.
Don't hold grudges. GET EVEN.

Go the PC route [you can run more games, and run them better/more accurately].
A VGA cable is all you really need. It's easy. You may want to bump the res of the screen up on the PC side too, since TVs suck at upscaling.
Come check out my website, I guess. Random stuff I've worked on over the last two decades.

In the end it'll work out 'cuz you'll have about the same size screen as arcade, right? 42" * .25 is still pretty decent

I can't think of any reason not to use DVI instead, or HDMI if your PC has that output.

You should be able to set a rez that makes consistent game -> TV pixel translation, too. Find out the native resolution of the display. Would have looked that up if you'd provided the make and model.
