A couple of months ago, Wovou, a French guy passionate about arcade games, finally made his dream come true by opening a game center in Toulouse, after years of making economies and plans. Located in the center of the city, not far from the train station, his game center boasts around 15 Egret III and Astro cabs, and several dedicated ones. Games usually running include DDR, Street Fighter IV, The House of the Dead 2, Beatmania, Guilty Gear, Melty Blood, Mushihimesama, Espgaluda... See pictures of the place in the last meeting at http://forum.shmup.com/viewtopic.php?p=188059#188059 (the game center has changed quite a lot since then and includes a lot more dedicated cabs but you get the idea).
The place is running well, and Wovou decided to host a STG event on the 11th and 12th of April 2009 : all 15 generic cabs running shmups, a full row of Cave games including the latest ones such as Dodonpachi DaiFuKKatsu or Mushihimesama Futari BL (which will be brought by other French attendees), projection of runs on a large wall screen, rankings... Some of the dedicated cabs will probably be left running during the event for those who want to try out Street Fighter IV or whatever else.
Many French people already planned to come and we're expecting at least 20 of us at this event. Although Toulouse isn't the easiest place to reach for some, we would love to see some foreigners attending and entry will be free for them (French attendees have to pay 10€ for the week end). There is a possibility of sleeping in the game center for those who would rather not spend money on a hotel room.
