For years I would look at this thread and laugh at Dale's petty score, but then not be able to beat it, by like a lot.

I got through two stages! Started the space stage with the red bouncy robots at the beginning with no backup pleasure boats and no bombs - no problem!

(Ironically it came after a bunch of plays with scores below Dale's - I guess the 30K mark is the first of many jumps to be made in this game.)

Anyhow, I think there's gotta be something broken inside anybody who enjoys the grindfest of Vulgarus but not pay fealty to the ongoing awesome blasting out of this game.

Stage progression was Desert -> "City" -> Enemies Transport Ship

Man, that boss doesn't look like a transport ship. Got killed by a squish attack.

Easily 1/2 my score came from picking up more medals in the third stage.

Disclaimer: To save time I had a savestate readied at this stage layout (actually I was only interested in starting at Desert since it has some medals). Game needs a stage edit mode to be perfect.

So close to 10 mil. Sixth stage destroys me every time.. because of the scoring system. I simply HAVE to get all the medals no matter what.

I warn you Spadgy, the game is hard to like from a mechanical standpoint, but the first and most important step is to make sure to use autofire. The game has its charms though, which I talk about in the my guide.

I read your guide Macaw - it's wet my appetite. I've always got time for games that aren't universally popular. Often it does mean I don't like it, but some times it means you uncover an atypical gem...

Not sure if this thread is active any more, but here goes what I just got:
TomuS - Geki Tsubasa - Stage 2-6 - 30,769,820

My hands are still shaking a bit, damn.. No-miss first loop too. I might have cleared the second loop but lost all the remaining lives trying to desperately get the medals in 2-6, haha. I'll see if I can beat this score.
Btw, there's a 1-up in this game, at stage 6. Little before the boss, the 3 panels on the ground, I don't know if it's random what power-ups they give to you but I happened to get a 1-up on this run.
