This is the deal maker:

Hopefully we'll see ports of the other stuff. Muchi Muchi Pork and Futari would be fantastic, and Galuda 2 too!

You do know that this port was announced a little while ago, right? ;)

I knew it was announced on shmups already as I just did a search!

But I only just found out myself by pissing around on Cave's website.

But this is definitely the one though. If Deathsmiles is on the way, I'm on board, as I've wanted to play this forever.
I should be in Japan early next year, so hopefully I can grab a post christmas sale on Japanese 360's. I don't care if it's busted up and barebones, but I want it cheap. It's weird enough buying a console twice as it is.

What's the going rate GP - how cheap have you seen them on the high street?

Good purchase idea! Bought mine because I thought Senko no Ronde would never get released outside of Japan.. then it did. Stuff like that always happens to me >< Nothing much came out after that for a fair while but it was still nice to have. Come to think of it, there hasn't been that many games released in the US that've been region locked either.. pretty much all the good titles are available on the NTSC-J 360 despite their region & it's a gateway into the exclusives as well.

I read somewhere that Japanese people were boycotting the PS3 because it isn't region locked.. whatcha guys think? That seems a little.. extreme.. but now I dunno. Honestly I expected to see shmups & fighters hit the PS3 as Japanese exclusives almost straight away, given the PS2's reputation and trend.

I'm going to bet one too. I'd rather get the PCBs but seeing as how I wouldn't have the 2 grand or so to afford Black Label and Ketsui for several years (and by then the prices will likely be even higher), getting a second 360 seems incredibly reasonable.
Feedback will set you free.

I hate to say I told you so... Actually I don't. It will be good to have a familiar face on the Live leader boards.

Anyone here nutty enough to pay the outrageously high cost for a 360 Hori RAP? I saw them offered for a short short time at a couple places, but I just couldn't justify $250+ for a joystick. (The importer apparently had to go through a third-party that paid full retail, then added a markup, then had to ship the huge things overseas...)

I've got one of the smaller Hori sticks though, and while it sure isn't an RAP, it's pretty good. Better than the 360's rather meh d-pad for sure. And it was $50, so I can still eat after buying it.

I'm definately going to buy one when I'm over there in November, and I've pre-ordered DoDonPachi: DaiOuJou: Black Label Extra II Turbo or whatever it's called.

They still may come to the PS3 in a few years. I hope so, at least. I know for a fact that my life would be a hell of a lot less stressful without the added, unnecessary worry of wondering when my console might kick the bucket again.

Yeah yeah. :D

With the DS announcement I can see that Cave games have definitely found their platform. If this means Futari and Galuda 2, I'm in.
Ketsui should've been enough, but I was holding out for a PCB. I can't afford everything though.

Should hopefully be able to bag one on my travels for cheap.

It would be a lot less stressful if you bought the 360 and played all the games you wanted to play, too.

I do believe this was what I was doing before mine died recently. Thankfully they can repair JP consoles in NZ. Apparently they can't in your location.

Sounds like bullshit; I can't imagine any consumer anywhere is upset about no region locks. Most consumers are probably unaware of their existence.

I'm going to buy the games since I don't wanna worry about the inevitable ebay mark up later on. As far as the system is concerned, i'd rather wait.

The inevitable eBay markup is why I have been preordering everything I want in advance, and have a Japanese-region 360 on it's way right now. Shoot 'em ups are marked up more than anything else, but we already know that...
Of all the things I've lost, I miss my mind the most.

Zero yen. You have to be very patient.

Honestly, I might end up doing that too. I already have a PS3 and other than the Cave games, there really isn't anything coming out on the 360 that I'm interested in.

yeah...no.

"japanese people" are 'boycotting' the ps3 for the same reason western people are: it's a boring game system and is too expensive. japanese devs also seem to have trouble programming for it.

Except they're not boycotting it, it's been selling fairly well there since launch.

The X360 has outsold it in Japan every week since its price drop early last month.

let's just not worry about whats outselling what and just play the games on them. sometimes it even more fun than arguing witch one is better, every once in a blue moon.

Damn Tim, you know there are quite a few Americans out there who still lives in tents due to this shitty economy, and you're dropping loads on a single game which only last 20 min. Do you think it's fair? How much did you spend this time?
