STGT 2008 - Week #4 Voting REASONS
Thanks again to everyone who contributed this week. Please remember, if you don't include your name or if you're not part of the tournament, your vote will not count.
Nomltest
---------------
My vote is going to be for Nomltest because, again, this is for a personal gain. I've started to play this game again, and I was pretty excited to see this game as a candidate for this week.
Staying alive for 8 minutes or so gets you that sweet solo, a feature the other games are SORELY LACKING. Plus OM-NOM-NOM bullet EATing oh and hey also can we play the bomber mode it's pretty fun and everyone should have to unlock it by themselves first
Nomltest is serene shmuppy goodness with awesome NES style
music. XED is OK, if uninspiring. Uwabami breakers is cool but has the
tight kind of bullet spam that I can't navigate.
I have an affection for 'infinite' shooters, especially ones that employ modern features like hitboxes, bullet scraping and shit tonne of bullets. I find Uwubami Breakers to be pretty unintelligible, and Xed is so bland it hurts.
Among the games of week #4, Nomltest have the old school graphics with bullet hell and the score system is not too hard to understand.
The music in this game is awesome. Uwabami Breakers sucks and I'm a fan of the Touhou games and your weapons are far to weak in Xed.
Uwabami didnt work whatsoever, so that one is definitely out.... wouldnt have voted on that anyway being that it has DDP style chaining, though.
Really, Nomltest or XED would both be quite fine for me, but Im choosing Nomltest over XED since Nomltest wont require me to memorize anything...... which is good. I like the scoring in either, though.
It makes me want to play another round of Space Invaders Extreme, which
is a very good thing.
After playing XED and getting error after error, that one was ruled out. Uwabami Breakers is, quite frankly, leaving me confused. Perhaps I'm not quite understanding it, but the several DSP errors I've gotten has pretty much told me not to bother with it. Nomltest FS is a game I'm familiar with (though not great at), and it runs without issue. So, my vote's going there.
It's the game I'm most familiar with and I'm a sucker for random patterns.
Invaders! In space! Also great music, style and fun to play.
Touhou
My vote is for nomltest, despite the fact that I like both Uwabami Breakers and Xed better. But this is, after all, a team tournament, and it is what has been chosen by the majority of the team. I still hope Uwabami wins, but I doubt it.
The others are really short, nomltest will give us a better spread of scores. Not that it matters, because nobody will take part, they'd rather cry about it.
Davey likes this game
Looks to be the best test of skill… for a doujin. I dunno.
Jesus told me to.
Xed
----------------
Nomltest FS ver 1.0.1: has a small playing screen!
Uwabami Breakers: abit confusing!
Naturally, shots bullits at bad man.
My dog ate my homework.
I got naked and spun around until I collasped. When I woke up my feet were painted blue and my wiener was pointing towards a statue of an indian hunting a grizzly bear. I'll get revenge on you one day, Ed Oscuro.
ps mike
you're gay
everyone is gonna vote for nomltest and im sick of that game, nobody is gonna vote for uwabami breakers because i dont know why so the best that can reasonably happen is that we play xed even if the music is a bit bad
スコアシステムは「Nomltest」と同様ですけど、「XED」はもっと大きい弾丸削除の半径があります。また、システムは簡単(弾丸削除の半径の中で1つの弾丸につき1000点)。
(I'll do a rough translation soon, sorry! For the time being, here's a machine translation by excite.co.jp):
The score system has the radius of a larger bullet deletion similarly to "Nomltest" by "XED". Moreover, the system is easy (It is 1000 points in the radius of the bullet deletion as for one bullet).
The other two are shit.
pew pew lasers
I vote for Xed because I have enough alcohol in everyday life.
I prefer Xed because it's not as strict as Uwabami and not as drearily monotonous as nomltest. I'm not trying to say that having a lax scoring system is some ethereal form of strategic voting or that my team will somehow do better compared to the top teams because of it - it'll just require the least restarts.
Because Uwabami Breakers is horrible and nomltest isn't much of a game.
xed has cool music and practically no items. plus, the ship looks kind of like a butterfly and shoots lasers. i approve of all of these things
I pwn at last week's game. Also, Xed scoring glitch = LOL
XED seems like quite a fun game, if such a thing is possible.
Seems like a more fun game to play than the other two, and not as
short. Even though we know the Touhoutards will come out in force to
vote this week. ;p
It's a team vote, and one I'm not entirely unhappy with personally. Out of the three this is defintiely the most "traditional" game. Nomltest would almost definitely get old after a couple days and UB just irritates me even when I ignore the scoring system completely, and all the more so when I actually try to play it well.
Uwabami Breakers
----------------
I vote for Uwabami breakers, because it has chaining and graphics.
Uwabami is very fun to play, despite the chaining and memorization. Nomltest is too difficult to score and Xed is boring.
Because all the games of this week are bad options (and all in my team agree) and this is the shortest one. There's no sense to not put other doujins like Tumiki Fighters, Blue Wish, Demolition Gunner, Warning Forever, and etc. Or even better, put a console week in the place of this crap week, and there's a lot of people on the forum that will agree.

Please reveal your real identity so I can hunt you down and yell at you personally. The others are really short, nomltest will give us a better spread of scores. Not that it matters, because nobody will take part, they'd rather cry about it.

I can see that was you Enhasa.I pwn at last week's game. Also, Xed scoring glitch = LOL
FYI my team (including me) was going to vote for Xed, but since you were kind enough to show that it's glitched, I was able to convince my teammates to vote for Uwabami instead. Which ended up leading Nomltest to victory, lol.

This kind of attitude made you all play Viper Phase 1 last year. Can't anyone learn from history? :(FIL wrote:Don't worry guys, its famous manics next, so the small fraction of the forum that are good at Garegga can run away with it, leaving everyone else to flounder.
Aside from the fact that it's just not true (what, Icarus is good at battle garegga? oh noes! icarus is good at and can put time into everything, so I don't see what the difference is), even if it was, I would still rather play a good game and do poorly than play a bad game and watch as the people I explicitly targeted with my game choice did better than me anyways.

Ed is failing miserably, I think you can take his spot.bsidwell wrote:Next year I'm joining Twiddle's non-participation team so I can laugh at all you bozos without having to suffer these horrible games myself.

I feel or sense none of those when I play nomltest. Now if you'll excuse me, I think I'll go and enjoy some parsec47.
