Very odd style...it looks to me like a mixture of very contemporary "action" poses, outfits, etc., and some quite antiquated illustration/advertising art styles and color schemes back from the late 19th/early 20th century...I forget exactly what the movement was called, now I almost wish I'd paid attention back when I was a graphic design major, heh.

Wow, they missed a master artist, huh?

I know what most of us fellas are lookin at  , but I really like the way he draws the weapons and the clothing. Esp. the girls and their robes. Lots of folds and flowing material. Remember Todd McFarlane and his capes/cloaks? Its like that, only everything just seems to flow better.

Check what? Styleos had been working for SNK for years but was never given the reins to character designs, hence his being ignored.

He may well have...artists have been drawing inspiration and references from previous work for centuries, maybe longer.
