Can you get U.S. Xbox Live account on J-360?

I'd like to condense down to one console. If I get a J-360 can I out-of-the-box create a U.S. account?

should be possible.
did this about a year ago on my PAL machine, worked.
cant guarantee that it will still work, though.
but why shouldnt it? ;D

Yes.

I log into my US Live account from the JP 360 whenever I play it.

You can create any account of any region on any console. Dunno about credit cards though.. they might have some restrictions.
