Picked up a Nitro Deck. Had my reservations, but happy to report that, so far, its a quality bit of kit. Great sticks, decent d-pad, and fairly hefty. Far better than the flimsy feeling Hori Split Pro.

Let's get JP Sega Saturn picky please !

Those guys designing the packaging of the action game Bulk Slash on the JP Sega Saturn found it interesting to add some embossed printing on the cover. Nice idea !? Except that those embossed printing were a bit sticky, and always in contact with the plastic case of the game.

Time passed and now year 202X, those embossed printing have melted all over the place and are stuck really hard to the case on all copies of Bulk Slash all around, and most certainly on yours if you own it. But not on the one I just bought 8)

Pictures : the relief prints are the triangular parts with the characters on them, and the title.

And a random picture showing one that has melted and stuck to the jewel case. Triangular parts are all green and you can see almost of the surface is covered with sticky thingie, look at the top :

Just picked up this lil guy basically NOS and it looks fantastic. The yoke appears to have slipped a tiny bit in transit, but I'll fix it soon enough. Already did a basic picture/brightness/focus setup to get it going and the white balance seems pretty much perfect. Tube is minty!

That's so weird because I got a copy off of YAJ about 10 years ago that had the same stickie issue on the instruction booklet/jewel case cover. I wonder if there was a run of faulty printings of this

It is not a faulty printing. All copies of Bulk Slash (regular edition, not Satakore edition) come with the booklet having those relief printing. And if they remained stored in the normal way for some years, those printing melted and stuck to the case. So almost every copy you can find nowadays has this, and I'm glad I could find one that does not.

Definitely. Though now it allows us to seek non-stuck Bulk Slash copies !

Still on the JP Sega Saturn, the hunt for Gundam Side Story jewel case games continues. I now have more than 64 copies of the games in this series, and keep on expanding since about 5 years. I was really lucky these last months to find 2 copies of those babies, new sealed T-13313G !

Finally picked up a 2023 Hallmark Christmas ornament "In to the Carbon Freezing Chamber" from the classic Star Wars TESB film circa 1980. On the secondary collectors' market, it fetches anywhere from $95.00 to $199.99 on eBay (Hallmark underestimated the popularity of this particular ornament, hence it's "sold out" status at retail despite it's initial July of 2023 grand debut). It is highly regarded as the most elaborate/extravagant SW ornament ever made due to it's overall lavish audio-visual & animatronic presentation. Do not miss out on getting this ornament as it will fetch even higher prices on the secondary collector's market once Hallmark officially stops selling it at retail in 2024 -- it's a given alrighty, folks.

How are you getting on with Returnal? I picked it up for cheaps recently and had a short blast just to make sure it worked. Not sure it'll be right for me yet but a friend recommended it highly. Feels a bit aimless, though I really appreciate the speed (especially as Demon's Souls is the main game I'm playing at the mo - what a contrast!).

Bought a Tomy Air Jammer Road Rammer (circa 1980 and had a MSRP of $19.99 usd at both toy stores & department stores that year). It is the Canadian version with both French & English text on it. Was surprised that it came shipped in super mint condition and that it seems that it wasn't played with very much. The original rubber treads are still intact on the rear tires (which is really not something you really see nowadays if at all -- most used Air Jammers have the rubber treads missing or broken off in pieces/decomposed due exposure to air & humidity). I know that Tomy sold the Air Jammers in the USA, those have the "Made in Japan" whereas in Canada, it's says "Made in Singapore" instead.

I had a friend whom had the rare Tomy air pump powered Honda ATC 250 variant that sure packed a punch when pumped up and let loose. The cool bonus of the original store receipt with price paid of a $19.99 Canadian dollars on 12/20/1982 was included as a cool retro relic/souvenir from 42 years ago. Most 2nd-hand Air Jammers are in sad shape (beat up/missing parts/air hoses missing or torn out) being sold nowadays and without the original box included whatsoever. Tomy did sell both the red & yellow colored Air Jammers back in the day.

Quite a cool retro air-powered car indeed. It'd sure be nice if TomyTakara were to bring it back in 2024. Makes me wonder if Tomy had a patent on it's Air Jammer cars (a typical U.S. patent would be good for 17 years -- it would've expired at the end of 1997 of course if it was issued).

I think it's great. Though the difficulty in the second half can feel really unbalanced since you start to get punished hard for minor mistakes and not having a crazy powerful weapon.

I have had a long-term appreciation for RECCA but I decided that it was simply too pricey for me and as such, I won't buy an original copy.

Battlesmurf produced a nice repro a few years back that I quite like.

Yes, bought a boxed repro of NES Recca from Battlesmurf about fifteen or sixteen years ago. Misplaced it and had to buy another repro cart of it -- plays like a charm nevertheless. Sure fetches some serious money in the "four figure range" if you want it in brand new condition nowadays.

Yes, I have Battlesmurf's repro and it's really well made. They did a great job on it and I'm glad to own it myself too.

I bought a few copies and passed them to mates years back.

Talk about long overdue. I was lucky to find a seller on here that had all of these for offer.

It seems like the only reliable way to get stuff from yahoo auctions these days is having a good friend in japan. If they're not going to block VPNs also soon. Looks like intermediate buyer(s)/intermediate buyer services made themselves really unpopular there. Along with foreigners. :|

Nice condition £1,561.41

New condition £4,996.52, although there are none sold as new in the pricecharting DB. If it's mint, somewhere above £1500.
