I adore GrimGrimoire, but I don't feel a need to get it again unlike La Pucelle(the new content). It's a wonderful game, tons of extra content.

I haven't played the original, so it's a whole new experience for me! I did burn a PS2 disc of it back in the day since I had the means to play copied games (and that was how I first played Odin Sphere), but ended up never actually playing it. OnceMore is supposed to have some new stuff, at least.

Which version of TM is that? I have the Saturn LE, and not even it had swag like that(but it does have really gorgeous packaging and a RAM cart).

Dude wtf, how'd I miss this post!

I love all of those. Have the same Raiders of Atlantis poster myself, albeit sadly sitting in storage atm. That 2019 one is especially rad. Love that the usual Snake Plisken was replaced with the helmeted dude and the saber-wielding monkey. I would beg of you to sell that to me but I already have infinite posters not hung, neglected and distraught  / :(

To my great annoyance, some dark stains have appeared out of nowhere on my old Dell monitor. Like the plastic is degrading or something. No idea if it can be fixed, and I don't know a good technician who can find it. So for now I decided to do a little upgrade and got this.

Image

Samsung UR55, aka UR550, aka LU28R550UQLMZD. Or whatever. Anyway, this is pretty great: 28", 4K, IPS, HDR, Freesync. Only the stand kinda sucks, no pivot to play tate games, so I plan to get a VESA stand later. Sadly, quality monitors are stupid expensive here in Brazil, this one sells for a very stupid $400 (versus $250 in the US). But I got it for a somewhat less stupid $345 as it was a floor model.

We are the mutants, excellent analysis 80s blog. and the PC msdos area 1987-1994 is just a rare insight review (that sounds so weird ! Pc invaded the world from this period and there are so few books about it !!), from ages where Amiga/Atari collapsed. and 2 arcade books.. (but Supercade 2 is a mess imo)

it's all about diving, DIVE IN ! explore, search, go beyond your doubts. japan is all about inception & differents aspects & sub-cultures.

goodness , weirdness, sukeban, rokudenashi, ganryu, yakuzas, gangs, rock, trash, bikers, truckers, psychics, experimental, drugs, oyabuns, decadence, lost youthness... : these tiny & movies memories books share the best of the B movies, but with style, sharpness, colours, schemes, stance, attitude. just imagine what Kitano & Tarantino likes, can't really film to public, but would want revive.. ("Crazy thunder road" is THE movie for kitano)

excellent ideas of these depraved movies there and sometimes with good cliches/pictures: and ~75% are really r.a.r.e, many never air again
https://www.bulletsnbabesdvd.com/forums ... um.php?f=1

for some underground cliches,
https://twitter.com/gurogege

for the rest, many gaming arcades sensations of players in the books, kewl toys, or what about stories of 50.000 porn kansai automat machines ? etccc

Honestly, you'd be surprised. They show all sorts of crazy stuff in theaters in the states. Even Alamo drafthouse has some crazy stuff, but sadly not in my neck of the woods. There's a huge resurgence with physical media and films I never thought would come out again after VHS, now only to be scanned in 4K. Tons of 'cult' Polish stuff, Hong Kong stuff -- hell, Jeans Blue No Future was announced yesterday on bluray. Stuff like Calamity of Snakes and Red Spell Spells Red. If you would have told me these would get anything past laserdisc I'd scoff a couple of years ago. Even fuckin' Devil Fetus getting a screening like next week by AGFA lol. The lord giveth, truly.

Yes and happily, subculture can be found elsewhere if you dig, but if there were one choice, sure for Japan imo. they can mix kansai with rusty automat food machines.. with lost arcade machines there ! meanwhile a highly distinguished domina will burn you & your soul to ashes.. but first, because i'm an arcade junkie.. and so many countries dont have nowadays the arcade feeling & style !

weird good stuff ? no problemo,
Philippines/Filipino ? Khavn de la cruz !!! https://www.youtube.com/@filmless/videos
what about Spain ? Quinqui !! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UU4O37OT9Y4
(they used to say about spain in the 80s : you see continuously : a building, an arcade, a wasteland...)

the day some local cinema can show off : "Gogal" from Gok kim (2008), there the world can end !

I went to the London Gaming Market yesterday and picked up a Castlevania Chronicle JP sealed for £40. It was perfect in every way. I owned this before but never sealed and it goes down as my buy of the day.

I also bought Exerion and Super Star Force on Famicom complete in box.

Are those vinyls or LDs? Either way, jelly. :)

I think I saw that Supercade book at a bookstore in Edinburgh, along with a gorgeous book called Region Locked, but it was a bit pricey.

I picked up some stuff from the UK, mostly some books, but there aren't many(any?) retro game stores to be found there...

Yeah, I tried it on EVERY BR player I have, and nada. :( I was told I can rip it from a BR reader, but I don't have one yet... ah well, one day.

Here's some other less important things I got in the UK:
Image

A very, VERY old copy of "the most racist opera ever written", but I love the music. :D
(I think it's literally from the late 19th century, but I'm not sure, though my friend says G&S were literally alive when this was printed.)

Linked for huge:

(The Art of KOF and The Guide to JRPGs, pricey and worth it)

https://i.imgur.com/NSWPuUM.jpg
(dirt cheap, and I love Okja)

Been after Monty Python Fluxx for a while, I think it's OOP...

Some PA books I got for cheap in Scotland(and with a discount), a V:TM sourcebook, and an FF7 poster book(sadly missing original art from the OG...).

In the USA, it was cheaper to stock an empty 18 wheeler truck trailer with the latest arcade game cabs to take quarters at the local fairs, carnivals, etc. back in the early 1980s when arcade gaming was popular with the general public. Of course, it helped to have a gasoline driven A/C generator nearby to power everything up.
