I'm looking to get an external harddrive for my computer, mainly to hold video files.
My question is, I want one that doesn't have too much lag whenever I want to watch videos off of it. I had a Zip drive ages ago which had really bad lag, which made me keep things on DVD-RWs.
I'd like some recommendations, if you guys don't mind. Thanks.

I just purchased this one a few weeks ago:
http://www.walmart.com/catalog/product. ... id=8245857
I dont claim its the most up to date, fantabulous HDD youll ever own but I thought it was a good price for 500 gb that would do what I wanted.
Which is store music, games & movies.
Ive been watching movies off of it all weekend & it works flawlessly.
Have it shipped to your local store for free shipping.
My 2 ¢ worth...

I bought a USB hard drive dock, and a 500 GB SATA hard drive two or three weeks ago.
I guess I should have gotten a dock with eSATA, but my neither my dinosaur desktop nor my notebook could support it in any way and I would still be stuck using USB 2.0.
It's been super reliable so far, much more so than my 250 GB external drive I have been using for the last two years, which has issues with the power supply.
