Has anyone finished anything yet? All I seem to have is worstplayer's very good Geometry Wars cover. Surely someone else must have completed something?
We're working on that Battle Squadron track, but it's going to take a while until it's finished.

Yeah, I just semi-finished another Darius Twin song. I've got to put IT on hold for a re-mix of another tune for an upcoming title  ...

But, during various slivers of spare time I'm going through my box o' games and trying to figure out what to re-make for the community album...

So, yeah I'm still on it!

I'd like to do a remix too. Just finished one right on time for another project, but I'm ready to get back to work now!

I'm procrastinating heavily as I am known to do but I will certainly get a Galuda track out eventually

After a comment in another thread, I did a search and came across this. Is it dead? Is it still taking submissions? Should I bugger off?

youtube fails to deliver high quality version unless you put in &fmt=18 at the back.

btw, that one is a fail arrange. gonna post a new one tonight.

@joeboto:
interesting choice of song! are you going to do death metal style vocals with it? ;-) *mushihiiii!!!!!GRRRRLLLL*

the mix sounds a bit dull and sloppy but your playing is pretty great!

@ the coop:
no, no don't bugger off! join the party and make some music, too.

we switched over to covering some judgment silversword, psyvariar style. we started working on recording it yesterday and made some good progress so far... we're now working on writing some additional material in similar style as the original music is just two short loops.

I originally wanted to contribute to this thread back when it started, but I just never did. I'm currently structuring a remix of DoDonPachi Dai-Ou-Jou's boss theme to make it er...more junglish? I don't know, the original's BPM is like 150-ish and I'd like to bump it up to 170-ish and make it sound more sinister. I may never finish this, btw. I'm like that.

Edit:Grammar, I've become a moron recently.

Wow, some interesting sounding stuff coming up!

The Coop wrote:After a comment in another thread, I did a search and came across this. Is it dead? Is it still taking submissions? Should I bugger off?
Nope, it's not dead at all, I was just waiting around before bumping it too much so as not to cork any creative juices. The submission policy is, and will remain 100% open, in the hope of getting as many styles together as possible. After a few straight up chiptune covers, I'm going to be working on some harsh digital grindcore, so don't worry about disparate styles, or even about covering the same song :D

@Zebraairforce: Have you thought any more about contributing? I've been listening to Zebruh Quest and wondering about what kind of madcap syncopation's you could come out with...

Good to see it moving again. I never heard original version of joeboto's remix, but it sounds really good.

EDIT: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IOt72Y8DXqo&fmt=18 my Gigawing remix.

Excellent news.

God I wish I knew where to start with getting into this creatively. I haven't done music production since Music X on the Amiga 500. What's a good package to start with on Macs? I've had a bit of time with Q-base and Fruit Loops, to the extent I don't even know how they're spelled.

Thanks for all the recent submissions! If anyone wants to bump the thread at any point to give us all a progress report, feel free!

It anyone is hankering to make a front cover for the album which could be printed out and shoved into a jewel case after downloading the album (I'm imaginaing at this stage it will eventually take the form of a digital download, unless someone has any suggestions otherwise?) then feel free! Of course it's still early days yet.

I particularly look forward to hearing your super jungle DOJ mix, crithit5000!

i actually did somewhat manabu namiki style remix of gallantry from raiden.

i used synth guitar on last part because, 3 of my guitar strings broke during recording. gah! :x

(and anyone knows any site that can host mp3 without downloading it?)

Here’s my cover of Mars Matrix stage 1. Sorry about the sloppy playing and bad recording. I’ll try to do a better one later.

First WIP of Raiden Trad's ending theme. The remix is basically all there, but I've got some notation tweaks and adjustments I want to make towards the end...

Edit: Just click on the big gray box. It doesn't look or act like a DL link, but it is.

well this is coming along nicely. some great stuff here, especially digging Joeboto's kiniro no hoshi furu utakata no yoru ni (great choice of tune too, Natsuko Naitou rocks! ^_^ ) and Kozo's Hector '87 '08. i'm curious about the original of that one now actually.

ours is approaching completion too. just some finishing touches and a little mixing/mastering to go. o-tanoshimi ni, or something.

also, if this is gonna be a digital download album, let's upload lossless versions somewhere too.

kiniro no hoshi furu utakata no yuru ni by joeboto is totally awesome. i really dig it that you chose to do this song joeboto...and you really did something nice and original with it. the mix is pretty good this time around. i guess i find it a slighty pity that you didn't adopt the original ending with the bells...but it's really neat as it is!

your (joeboto's) gallantry is pretty cool too though i do find it a bit static and expressionless. if is was my place i would advise you to add a bit of velocities to your midi notes to get a bit of liveliness and flow into them, think it will make it come alive and turn something nice into something excellent. :) i would give the same advise to worstplayer, your songs can also use a bit more human dynamics, imo. even randomizing the velocities slightly can help a whole lot already in losing some of the artificiality.

i don't know the original version of hector'87 but kozo it sounds like you did quite a bit with it, i like that. the organ break is fun & striking.

i also don't know the original version of the raiden theme so i don't know how the coop's version compares...

mosquito fighter, when i play your recording i feel like i'm back in the day again listening to my black metal demo tapes and bootlegs... now you just need to shout "chainsaw gutsfuck!" over it!

anyway, i like how this is starting to take form! glitch and i will soon be working on finishing off our judgement silversword remix...
