I'm gonna go out on a limb and assume that you mean this article: http://www.click-stick.com/bonus/GAMEST ... SPRaDe.zip
Don't worry about linking to it. It's meant to be available to as many people as possible.
A translation would be stellar.
[EDIT: All thanks goes to zero-chan.]

The sad thing is that I've had this book for months. Just never really got around to reading it... like most of my mags, unforutnately. I used one of the graphics for my stick... it is lovely.
Anyways, there's quite a bit of substance there... and reading vertically will not speed up the process. I will do my best though.

Okay, these guys seriously need to take their Ritalin. Even my better half said their communication skills are attrocious. Anyways, mixed in with some confusing Japanese, there are parts of the story I'm missing that would make this task a million times easier. I went to the Cave of Shooting and there's no ESPRade page.
Can someone tell me the relevance (storywise) of the Jieitai (Self-Defense Force) and the Yasha. A Yasha is a type of Japanese demon, but something tells me it's one of the groups in the game. This specifically has to do with JB's ending.
Also, they go off on this weird tangent about Alice Clone, how she appears on screen, and about her big ass hand. WTF?!
I need to sit down and play all the way to the end (this and Dangun I've not given much time, I admit).
Any help is appreciated.
EDIT: Okay, I actually skipped the story part before the interview .^^ That explains a lot. I also went through w/ JB and Irori and I'm still curious about this whole hand thing. Guess I'll give it another read.
I've figured "Alice Clone" is those little girls on 5b.

Well, here's the short plot summary Rando cooked up for shoot the core:GaijinPunch wrote:Can someone tell me the relevance (storywise) of the Jieitai (Self-Defense Force) and the Yasha. A Yasha is a type of Japanese demon, but something tells me it's one of the groups in the game.
Tokyo, 2018. A trio of kids with ESP powers are the only ones who will oppose the ruthless dominion of the mysterious lady that controls the subterranean criminal networks and the Yakuza. She will fight you with her hordes of Alice clones, her late and much beloved daughter.
Are you sure that "yasha" is different from the Yakuza (I think the game spells it "Yaksa")? If I find anything else on the plot I'll let you know...I could swear I've seen more than this at some site or other.
EDIT: Here's a piece of a review of the game I found...I left in all the incorrect spellings and such.
The story I'm gonna talk about takes place in an imaginary future, which could actually occur in this century's Japan, exactly in Tokyo in the year 2018. In such scenario, ESP powers are not a dream anymore...
At those times a mysterious syndicate known as Yaksa fully controls the Japanese politics, society and economics, their headquarter being in the capitol city, Tokyo. There the old and powerful Mrs. Garra, the syndicate's one and only leader, has everything in her own hands.
People say that woman's been capable of obtaining extremely powerful ESP faculties after a lot of years of psychic training, and she apparently uses such powers in order to conquer and dominate everything she wants. She even set up an army of bodyguards mad of young women called Alice, all looking and behaving the same way (they might be clones!) and extremely well-trained in ESP attacks and defences.
It's time for balancing the accounts with her: her true nature is unveiled and war begins. Three only people can contrast her, each powered by unique ESP capabilities, each havign their own reasons to fight the evil syndicate leader. Yuusuke Sagami is a young high school student girl, Jb-5th is a Russian assassin and Irori Mimasaka is a child figthtinh for peace.
Here's the site... http://www.rainemu.com/zzapraine/issue10/esprade.html
Not sure how reliable the plot summary is, but I figured you might want a look anyways.

120%. Here's a definition of the word. Some English dictionaries translate it to Yaksa... other things in Japanese pop-culture (Inu Yasha, A weapon in Phantasy Star Online) don't. It is definitely not Yakuza. Are you sure that "yasha" is different from the Yakuza (I think the game spells it "Yaksa")?
Yuusuke Sagami is a young high school student girl,

I hope that's a mistake.
Not bad, although I skimmed over the part in the interview last night where they talk about JB (possibly) being from Russia. That does help a bit.Not sure how reliable the plot summary is, but I figured you might want a look anyways.
I abandoned the interview and am doing the story first. Don't know why they did it that way in the interiew. Makes it hard for people that aren't familiar with the game... regardless of the langauge barrier.

Gaijin has finished translating the interview et al. Thanks and praise to him, Click-stick, and everyone else involved.
Nice work. Just a correction: http://dynamic5.gamespy.com/~japangamin ... on&b=6&p=5
The game mentioned there as the previous work of Inoue is Banpresto's Akuu Gallet [Air Gallet], not "Aqua Gallet". This is somewhat important, since proves Gazelle and Cave's brotherhood.

Cool read. I think it's pretty interesting that they weren't really happy with the system. Kinda makes you wonder if more developers bang their heads on a table after releasing a game and yelling "What the hell were we thinking?"
Still, you'd think they understand that if there's a possibility to milk for points, quite a few people will do it no matter how boring (or difficult) it is.

No matter how good a game is, somebody will always hate it. No matter how bad a game is, somebody will always love it.

Thanks.... I will change that. I thought I saw it in a thread here as Aqua... your thread nonetheless. :/ I'm only human.Recap wrote:Nice work. Just a correction: http://dynamic5.gamespy.com/~japangamin ... on&b=6&p=5

As for them not liking the system... they were pretty hard on themselves. I had to re-read a few parts just to make sure. Never heard anyone say that about their own game.

Hope everyone enjoys it.
Ok this is really bugging me, can someone clarify the genders of the 3 characters!?BulletMagnet wrote:Yuusuke Sagami is a young high school student girl, Jb-5th is a Russian assassin and Irori Mimasaka is a child figthtinh for peace.
At least its obvious Irori is a girl...but I've seen multiple sources say different things about JB and Yuusuke.

They're both boys. They never really come out in say it about JB. Japanese is one of those langauges where you can get by with several pages without saying "him"... the power of implication.
However, the interviewer at one point says, "I really thought he was a girl!" and laughs... and Inoue doesn't say anything. They also refer to Irori as a heroine, but not J-B. Finally, it says in his character profile he's codenamed "Black Peter Pan". Hardly the name of a girl, no?
Yuusuke is a boys name, and is obviously dressed match.
Anyone know specifically where Black & Chihiro from ESPGaluda come in? I'm going to go out on a limb and say that they're leftovers from the six original characters that didn't make the cut.

Ok, I got the gender stuff straight (I think BulletMagnet mispoke in his above translation for Yuusuke).
Anyway, I was suprised when I read that they did not use hand drawn sprites, but rather CG polygons for the characters (and ships I suppose), and then flattened them to 2D sprites! This flies in the face of what a lot of cave finanatics have said in the past.

I'm sure that was alot of work, and it has not gone un-appreciated!

Totally! I was way surprised, but, from a realistic (time involved) standpoint, it seems ideal.Dave_K. wrote:Anyway, I was suprised when I read that they did not use hand drawn sprites, but rather CG polygons for the characters (and ships I suppose), and then converted them to 2D sprites.

Indeed it was tough, or it would've been done a lot quicker. I did learn quite a bit out of it though. Glad to see that it's apprciated!undamned wrote:THANKYOU 16X, GaijinPunch!

Indeed. And the interviewer either new exactly how the the design process was done, or it was a canned question. I guess either way the result is the same.Anyway, I was suprised when I read that they did not use hand drawn sprites, but rather CG polygons for the characters

Heh, I actually didn't translate anything (I know diddly about Japanese), I just copied and pasted that thing from another site...didn't even notice the gender-bender until after I'd done so, heh. Yusuke's gender never confused me much...JB, on the other hand, drove me nuts..."It looks like a gal and sounds like a guy! The heck is this thing?"Dave_K. wrote:Ok, I got the gender stuff straight (I think BulletMagnet mispoke in his above translation for Yuusuke).
