Dragonball: The Live Action Movie (2009)

Post by MX7 »

Fuck Akira. All the philisophical meandering will ensure it will be a shit film, as oposed, as oposed to fun trash, which is all it coud hope to be. Instead we have a far more enticing prospect: Dragonball: The Live Action Movie. Yes, the ultra camp day-glo glucose infused story of a bunch of steroid abusing aliens twatting each other over and over again is going to be made into a live action film with white people screaming at each other. Yes.

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1098327/

Some reasons why this will be amazing:

1) James Masters, a genuinely good actor, will be playing Piccilo, an 8 foot tall bulbous headed, gruff voiced alien with a heart of gold.

2) In a move hearking back to the construction of oriental exoticism itself, all the young women will be played by asian girls, while the young men are played by white guys, and all the old men who have no hope of being sexed up are played by asian men. Sorry asian men, you clearly are not hot enough to be in this film.

3) Apart from Yamcha, who's being played by this stern looking asian guy, whos only previous acting role was 'Yakuza Driver' in speed racer.

4) The makers of the film have assured us that the hairstyles of the cartoon characters will be faithfully recreated.

5) They're going to go "ARRRRRRRRGGGGGGHHHHH!!!!!!" at each other, possibly for whole minutes on end.

In other words, the whole thing is going to look like a particularly violent episode of Lazytown, only with less Eurobeat.

Seriously, if this is played for its camp appeal, it could be amazing, perhaps even the next Flash Gordon. I honestly cannot wait to see it :D

Woah, nice to see Ernie Hudson has been exhumed. I wonder if he's playing Mr Popo?
The biggest unanswered question is where is the money? [1CCS]

This movie is just going to suck so hard and spit out all dragonball z fans.
In due time this thread will be flooded with negative comments.
I hope it wil be nice, but naivism is not something I hold dear to heart.
The demo of the ps3 version sucked ballz by the way. it was pathetic.
