Puchi spray

Post by postman »

New game from Hamcorossam, looks like an esprade clone.

Problem is, he gives an incomplete link, and I can't translate the text. Anyone figure out how to download this?

Is he actively trying to keep filthy westerners from playing his precious Cave ripoff? That's just pathetic.

Anyway, I tried it and it's a straight ESP Ra.De clone. Most of the enemies and shot patterns are 100% the same, the biggest addition being tons of random schoolgirls you shoot at. The sound effects were really annoying for some reason.

Also I like how the default skill is "Normal Dog", and it's not even that much easier than the harder skill.

I couldn't get it to fullscreen, and my joystick refused to work with it.

Boo.

I thought the same thing........

Most doujin creators are very friendly and open to foreigners playing their games.........

Granted, i'm not familiar with this developer but why do you think he/she is trying to keep westerners from playing? Just because his site doesn't have an english option? It's highly possible that he/she doesn't know english, isn't it?

Anyway, this made me curious because i've heard people say this in a few cases without any backing. Not sure if that's the case here or not. Did the developer say something to lead snyone to believe that?

just curious

The link to the game on his site is broken, with explanations on how to fix it in Japanese. If you don't speak Japanese, you can't download it .. unless someone else gives you the link.

He even went so far as to make the link and explanation an image, so automatic translators won't work on it. Yikes!

It's to keep out the riffraff Westerners.

The more worthy Westerners who have spent the time and effort to learn the Language of the Gods will have no trouble.

I don't think it's intentional, it's just a crawler-proof link (a strange but non-discriminatory idea) with adequate instructions.
Why should a Japanese author with a Japanese audience go out of his way to address a negligible minority like us westerners?
It would be stranger than seeing japanese translations in western news sites (which have a more global relevance than doujin games).

A crawler-proof link would just have to be an image of the filename intact, not incomplete with instructions in Japanese.

His is crawler-proof and foreigner proof :P

Not that I agree with his crazy policy, but I'm pretty sure it's just anti-bot. Having an image with the filename intact wouldn't work from his perspective, you might as well just use plaintext. Hell, even text-based CAPTCHAs are going the way of the dodo. OCR technology is getting so advanced that computers can solve most CAPTCHAs better than people can, which is why the newest trend is image-based.

Fact is, if you had the insane premise that bots were going to be all over your link and that it mattered, and your site is in English, you would do the same thing. And nobody would say you were trying to shut foreigners out, it would just be an unfortunate consequence.

plaintext link = insecure
pic of link = insecure
pic with mangled URL and instructions to fix = secure

there must be away to increase the screen size. i really want to try but it's so small, it's virtually unplayable. Even the pics in the manual are larger than the actual game.

I hope someone figures this out.

Hey Sandlegs -

Can you translate the other downloads, for completion's sake?

Convoy

Jaguar 2nd Stage

http://homepage2.nifty.com/hamcorossam/ ... ohonoo.zip

Here is the link to Jaguar Ex Hellfire, but alas it wasn't working

http://homepage2.nifty.com/hamcorossam/ ... ogouka.zip

I also tried the Esprade clone, I was also met with a small screen, and in addition, when the game was open my mouse pointer magically disappeared!

CTRL ALT DEL just to close a window, awesome!

More games should default to the upper left corner.

Do any of you guys or gals still have this game downloaded on an old harddrive somewhere?
Because it looks like all the download links are down and nobody seems to have archived it.
So you might be everyone's last hope of this not becoming lost media if you happen to still have it.

Looks cool anyway, reminds me a little of the Cave Nokia versions that G-Mode Archive ported.

Sorry.

This URL has been excluded from the Wayback Machine.
Wow. Thought maybe there'd be a contact email address to be found at least, in case the author still has the software.

I've never played that one so unfortunately I can't be of help, but I do feel the need to offer a quick tip of the hat for making me aware of that YouTube channel, lots of obscure stuff in there.
