PC Shmups with vertical monitor option

Post by jandrogo »

Hi to all,

I am building myself a cab and I'm considering to leave it with the monitor set in vertical mode, so I would like to make a list with good games that have this possibility.

Who wants to collaborate? I start with:

Raiden III, very good game and I think a perfect port from the arcades.

Does it matter when you use the Pivot function of your graphics driver ?

Hi Fudoh!

when I wrote the post I was only thinking in games that give the option to change the view and take the advantage of vertical monitors. Filling all the screen with the game, without the black bands at the sides.

But if it can be also done with pivot pro or with drivers it's also allowed

Fudoh congrats for your web page about scanlines, very interesting and useful

Really I think most PC shmups designed for the PC are not tate friendly. If only because they didn't expect users to tate their monitors to play them. Remember Raiden 3 isn't really a PC shmup as much as it is a port of an Arcade game ..

other than doujin games (which only a few have TATE options) pretty much any PC shmups i have has a tate option....including raiden 3 and all the shikigami no shiro series....

and obviously any vertical games with MAME just require you to set the screen to rotate.....
