It wasn't a clear this time, game over on the cranes shortly after the stage 5 mid-boss. I think a no-bomb run is achievable though; the only bomb spot left is the final boss’s rotating ellipse thing in the first phase.

updated today.

I am considering trimming the J board to 25- possibly even 20 within the next few weeks.

Keep up the good work guys- and OTA- congratulations with the clear! You've put some effort into that one!

Thanks mate - it was your board that got me motivated.

We had a shmup meet at Casino arcade in London recently, which saw a couple of new posts (though maybe MulletGeezer hasn't submitted his yet) for Progear highscores. I had to see myself knocked down the board infront of my eyes!

EDIT: Nice jump up Taylor! You're scoring amazingly without your 1CC, so I can see your scores go far further! I haven't been able to touch a stick since the meet - my wrist is killing me, though I think I have Raiden Fighters Jet to blame!

Thanks, spadgy. I've got all the 'parts' for hitting 2-1 with a respectable score, I just need to do it all in one run. Hopefully I can do it on MAME and then 'for real' in Casino. :)

Please, please don't do that. The JP version IS, after extended play, definitely harder than the US version, which is why it makes sense to have a longer list.
Besides, I worked my ass off for this!:

Japanese version
Skykid: Bolt, Rivet - Stage 1-5 - 10,829,930 (EDIT: SCORE BROKEN BELOW)

I love the idea of beating Gaijin Punch too. 8)

I knew I should have take a picture of the 14mil on my jap board, still I guess I would survive a cull if my 13.6 mil score it put on :)

EDIT: SCORE UPDATE!

Japanese version
Skykid: Bolt, Rivet - Stage 1-5 - 11,393,230

Made it to the last boss' final form this time - I could smell that 1CC!

Grrrr!

Over on Cave-STG RAR posted a freakin' amazing 2-ALL score. Is RAR on the shmup board? I hope he posts his score!

I suppose I should throw up a score here. Score and ALL was obtained on the PCB.

RAR - 121,107,960 - ALL - Ring / Chain (JP)

Well - a small increment. Can't seem to combine a good score up to beating the level 4 boss with a 1CC, but he's my second 1CC, which, inexplicably, I managed despite going into the final boss with no bombs and one life in stock.

spadgy - 12,741,580 - 1-ALL - Bolt/Rivet

Also, a rather laughable display of what happens when you 1CC on your first credit and then keep trying again getting worse each time (yes - that 4m score is mine to, last credit of the day!)

Thanks Battlesmurf, and sorry about forgetting the region. Amateur mistake when I've entered so many incrementally improved scores here.

lol..don't worry- you've got an amazing score yourself! I feel kinda embarrassed by my score personally. In the Japan game I max out at 15- I can't bear to post something until I can get a higher score than that ;P

I really wouldn't mind Progear winning the next round in STGT2008 as it's up for vote, but I'll be a little gutted about this lovely little scoreboard suddenly becoming flooded and my score falling away to the bottom - oh well!

Decided I’d try the JP version and walked away with something fairly respectable.
Taylor - 14,686,210 – 1-5 – Bolt/Nail

Cocked up stage 5 so badly... I'll try and get one with an 1-ALL next time.

Thanks, it was the first time I ever no-missed no-bombed the entire first loop. It's an insane score jump when you do so.
