I haven't really gotten into this game yet, but I'll be damned if it isn't way more fun than I remember it being!

US Version

CPN - 8,271,440 - 1-5 - Bolt - Nail

EDIT:

CPN - 9,311,890 - 1-5 Bolt - Nail

I imagine there are lots of points to be had in stage 5. I guess the secret trick is ... to actually stay alive past the very beginning.

Might as well post the score I got for STGT.

JP Version

Danbo Daxter - 35,222,920 - 2-5 - Bolt - Chain

I really think I've hit a wall with progear though.

Thread updated. Japan High Score chart now locked at 30 places. If enough people want this lifted- we'll go from there. For now- I'm hoping that 30 places encourages some enhanced efforts and renewed interest in the game :)

It's been a while, but here's a small increase in score on the US board...

US Version

spadgy - 13,271,740 - 1-ALL - Bolt - Rivet

Image

Not enough to jump me up a place, but at least I hit 13 mil finally.

Oh, and Battlesmurf, could you take the (OTA) off the front of my name? No idea why I put that there!

Battlesmurf, you might want to update sikraiken's score from STGT '08. He's pretty much demolished my score and knocked me down to #2 slot with a score of 155M ALL. :)

17 million's your monthly pay as well isn't it Taylor? What a coincidence!

Seriously though, nice one mate! Well done!

lol- I missed that part. That's nuts :P

I got you Spadgy- will take care of that the next update.

I'll update this around the 20th of this month. I figure unless people vote otherwise I'm going to try to keep it around that day every month (bill time) so I don't forget :P

My score posting for this game is a good indication of when I put my cab back into Hori. Put Progear on again last night, got a new high score today (I should really spend more time with this game.)

JAPANESE VER.

Skykid - 12,654,680 - Stg 1-5 - Bolt/Rivet

Can produce pic on request.

Change of crewmen and an incremental increase.

JAPANESE VER.

Skykid - 12,690,520 - Stg 1-5 - Ring/Nail

This freakin game is doing my head in. I try playing on difficulty level 2 (US difficulty) and the game is too easy all of a sudden. I refuse to get the 1CC like that, so after a day, switch it back to level 4 (default JP) and make it straight to Volvox with 2 lives - which he rapes me of instantly before I get any bombs off.

What knocking the difficulty down is great for though is learning sweet spots for scoring. You have a couple more seconds to think about it.
The rank on difficulty 4 is absolutely punishing though. The bullets go at an insane speed by the third stage.

Nice one mate!

I though default on the US boards was denoted as level 2, but US difficulty level 2 is different from Japan difficulty level 2 (and US level 2 is not as hard as Japan default level 4)?

All things considered, that's pretty close to me, and since you're not hilariously above my skill level, I wonder where the bulk of your score came from.

Any spots in particular?

Yeah, I was asking Taylor about it. Apparently JP difficulty 2 is the same as US default difficulty, with a few minor differences to do with bullet patterns on the JP.

Switching my board from level 4 to 2 and then back to 4 was useful in identifying the differences. I think the default Japanese setting has a much more punishing rank, with some mad speedy bullets in places - but I find I like the buzz of being pushed really hard by it.

BTW, I scored 13.5 mil on my first go on difficulty 2, but cos its a JP board I can't submit to the US score table.:?

I will have the damn 1CC, I'm committed to leaving the game in my cab after xmas until I get it!

To be honest, I've gone so reckless in wanting to get every ring/gem that I end up dying a lot. Expect a better score soon.

There's not much to explain, really... Hopefully I can make a wolfmame replay out of this and hopefully it can explain myself.

EDIT:
New shitty US score. I lost pretty much all my lives on Stage 5.
SFKhoa - 20,498,840 - Stage 1-5 - Ring/Nail

Here's a wolfmame 0.106 replay

Updated. *should be* error free.

Anybody have a link to SirAiken's 155 for the STGT08?

Spadgy- removed OTA.

I'm glad to see people paying attention to the US version- the HS part for the US game has been naked for awhile.

Went to Casino last night. All the training on the JP ver has paid off it seems as I got this straight away with lives in stock:

US VERSION

Skykid - 12,554,780 - ALL - Bolt/Nail

The pisser is I stupidly fumbled stg3's scoring opportunities - didn't expect to finish it. But finally that's one version done at least and my second Cave clear. :P

Going back to the JP version to get that 1CC :x

Yes, it was pretty fruitful in the end! I do need to catch up with you at some point though. Are you going to be at ATEI?

Got home and played the JP version once and finally pushed into the 13 mil! A milestone for me, but still no 1cc. I blew far too many lives on the stage 4 boss. :(

EDIT: Was in the zone tonight! Score updated! :D
