Grrr, you got me Spadgy!
I've never even made it to stage 5
I'm not posting anything here until I beat you!
Then again, I'm getting seriously distracted by the Guwange I just bought - I'm in love with it.

I feel strange.
LGB - 3295870 - Stage 3 (Boss) - Bolt/Rivet - Japan Board
For some reason, I can 1-life it to stage 3, then lose both of my spare lives on the same bullet pattern about halfway through the level. So I've got one life left to beat the other half of the level, and the boss, then lose it on a bullet pattern right before the extend. (The score is around 27 to 29K). I DID eventually beat him, but died at the same time.
I think I'll go try the US rev now.

Hate to keep you busy Battlesmurf, but it's quite a jump for me...
OTA - 8,129,430 - 1-5 - Bolt /Rivet - (US version)
I'll just post a link to a pic rather than filling up the board with another massive photo...

Also, as I was doing this run, at the 1-4 boss, a woman came into the arcade and tried to sell me pirate DVDs, while I was bloody playing! Worse still she could see I was concentrating but wouldn't give up when I said no, and was waving the bloody things in my face and everything...
Oh, and Gwyrgyn Blood - which version did you get your score on?

Yeah - just how different they are is based on some fairly intricate details, but the Japanese one is considered a little harder by most...Gwyrgyn Blood wrote:Japanese version. I didn't realise there was a big difference between the two (although I guess two different charts should have made that obvious).
edit: Hrm, didn't seem much different to me other than the lack of voices and being in English. :I
I just got somewhere farther a bit.
LGB - 4282870 - Stage 4 - Bolt/Nail
Mental block removed. This time around, I missed the x2 mulliplier in stage 2. I know my score would be substantially better if so. And heck, if I could beat stage 3 with it... Got to the stage 3 boss having lost only one life, lost one against it (though I got to his 3rd patterns before I did), and stage 4 took me out a bit quicker than I would have liked. Stage 4 is a very twisted view on what a horivert is.
Nail is my little hero. My cute, adorable, (evil, insane, agressive) little hero.

I'm still getting up there.
LGB - 5576830 - Stage 4 - Bolt/Nail - Japan Board
Well now. There's nothing but junk!
I figured out how to have a total of 1M from stage 1, not that big of a deal; I figured out to have a total of 3M from stage 2, still not that big of a deal; and I figured out to have a total of 5M from stage 3, once again not that big of a deal. Final death about halfway through stage 4. I could have easily gotten 6M and probably way beyond that, but my carelessness led to a very cheap death. This was actually in a rush. 30 minutes before school, heh.
Nail's full/real name has got to be Demonail de Deathsatan.
Edit: Seeing as many of the scores on the Japan board are all beyond 7M, I will go try the US version immediately.
I've been messing around with region codes and learned that even if you set it to US (+2) at difficulty 2, it's still as hard as the Japanese one. Same bullet patterns, anyway. Could be wrong though.

The biggest difference is how long it takes for enemies to die in the different versions.LGB wrote:

Also, thanks to the subtle differences, it seems easier to score higher on the Japanese one (more gems/rings maybe?). So harder, but you get higher scores.
I'm only sticking to the US version as that's what my local arcade has and I play so much better in a busy arcade than an empty living room.

I'm about to start the US version for the sole fact that I'll actually be on the board :VI'm only sticking to the US version as that's what my local arcade has and I play so much better in a busy arcade than an empty living room.

Updated.
Lol..I figured this time I'd wait a week or two to update- and it paid off. Some of you guys are post happy If you guys don't mind- if you only move up one slot- wait a week to post, please. This way- if you move up another slot I don't have to update the high score thread as often.
Keep up the good work though, guys- the gem/ring system in this game is pretty funny- somewhat odd to 'get' at first.
