Caught the opening midnight show in Baton Rouge :p

But no, i'm serious! The plot is totally inconsequential and you'll really understand after you see it. This movie is about exploding people and then kicking ass some more.

REAL SPOILERS BELOW

It makes you think for a second that this movie will have a bright message about God and hope. You think, "Oh, Rambo is protecting missionaries. This missionary chick he probably likes is going to convince Rambo that there is a better way than fighting and killing people and Rambo is going to save everybody. Then Rambo will kiss this girl and find true love."

Well that doesn't happen. Rambo just fucking kills lots of mothers for like a long time. Then Rambo blows up a fucking huge ass bomb and takes a .50cal to a field full of Burmese soldiers. After that lots of people have exploded and the message is clear - if there is a God, he isn't in Burma and Rambo kills people.

It's really dark compared to the feel of part 2 and 3. It's like a thin mixture of the first two movies - but now with added slayings of the innocent. I guess to stress the horrors of war or something. It's good though - an extremely ballsy film by today's standards. It's probably the most violent and gory action movie i've ever seen.

Only 2 complaints -
1. the two missionaries that have prominent roles are horrible actors. To the point that it's annoying.
2. no chopper scene :(

Other than that it was pretty good. :)

Awesome! That's just what I was hoping for!

If it's anything like First Blood Part 2 it should be lots of fun.

This sounds awesome, I didn't even know it was coming out.

First review I find is a Canadian journalist crying that it's violent and devoid of a message. Good, that's exactly what a Rambo film should /be/.

Brilliant, Rambo is god in human form anyway so the killing is clearly justified, I've been looking forward to this for awhile good to hear the plot is irrelevant.

Saw it last night. So great.

Mindless carnage, and a whole lot of it. This is the reason I went to see RAMBO, and this is what RAMBO delivered.

The best part about the film is that every time you think that the scenes couldn't possibly get more extreme, they go and get more extreme.

Lol..this should have been the tagline for the movie.

And the unrated Die Hard 4 helped quite a bit- that's how that shit should have been released in the theaters (and BR). I think back to the Robocop 1-3 spread days..."let's cash in on the kids R-> pg" spread.

I don't think there's anything wrong with that. He did it to look good for a movie in which his character needed to be big to make up for his old age, not to cheat at the Olympics.

I have to watch this. The promise of ruthless killing, violence, and pushing the R-rating entices me.

Awesome movie :D

Only complaint was that mini-nuke claymore

No, he put the claymore in that bomb the guide pointed out earlier. He said it had been dropped in WWII but didn't go off.

My favorite scenes:

Rambo ripping out that dude's throat with his bare hands.

When that girl falls to the ground while flee-ing with rambo, and those two guards show up, then it goes into sniper vision and you see the guard just flying across the screen and the 2nd guard's head fly off and his body flying right behind it.

I have never seen so many bodies exploding, getting dismembered and filled with huge holes.

Damn, i drove about 80 to see it. It's really worth it to watch on the big screen. I wouldn't settle for some low quality bootleg, that would be a damn shame.

I can't afford gas for 80 miles just to see one movie.

Not only that but no friends want to come along, reason: "WTF you want to see a movie which you go around killing people?"

Because it's fun.

I'm like 40 miles away from Daytona Beach and I'm not driving all the way down to Daytona Beach just to see one movie.

Gas is breaking my balls, can't wait to get the hell out of here.

That's one thing I miss about Brooklyn, you got something to do up there and it's mostly in reach.

Lucky bastard. :P

I would die for a real bagel and a real pizza here in Florida. They can't make pizza for shit over here. Not only the pizzas suck, it's small (they call a large 16 inches over here, are you for real?)!

And I miss the Jewish food stores which is near Coney Island (I think if I remember you get off one exit in Belt Parkway, pass the hospital and take a left, it's somewhere in Brooklyn) and the Arabic food shops (Atlantic Ave in Brooklyn).

I know what you mean since I live a couple train stops from Coney Island . I don't know how long you been gone, but Brooklyn has changed a lot in the past two years. You'd be surprised how many buildings have been demolished to build condos. This is becoming condoland, seriously.
