Ruldra has a double entry on his MAME Arcade score.

Re: Strikers 45 ii
Whatever. Would probably do better if I quit dying on 1-3, but don't feel like practicing it.
AMI - 674400 - Ki84 - 1-6 - MAME
Re: Strikers 45 ii
Think I triggered a glitch here. I deathbombed on the boss somehow, and even though I was on my last life I still respawned and got 1 more life. Didn't do any scoring after that, though, since I died on the boss, but w/e - score's still legit.

Re: Strikers 45 ii
I'll have a go tomorrow. I think I can beat some of the 1-5 scores. lol.
This industry has become 2 dimensional as it transcended into a 3D world.

Aaaah, that was terrifying. Was down to no bombs and no lives remaining by the end of the 1-8 boss' second phase and so had to not screw up anything on the last two phases. The adrenaline's still going from that. Of course, I got massacred by 2-1, didn't even make it to the boss.
EDIT: Better score.
SPZ - 1,341,700 - Ki84 - 2-1 - MAME
Here's a .inp of the run for Shmupmame 3.0b.

This game is so goddamn addictive. Probably my favourite from Psikyo. Got most of the first loop down now.

Um... 3.0b gives me an 0xc00000005 error. I hate to make you do this, but could you upload it to Youtube? That way I could pause and fast-forward interesting parts.Sapz wrote:

And I knew you'd like it.
Re: Strikers 45 ii
Sure, but I'm not happy with that .inp run now, haha. I'll record .inps from now on and next time I get a similarly good/better run compared to my HS, it'll go on YouTube.
EDIT: Here's a run. Pretty bad second loop performance, not as good as my HS, but my best first loop so far, 1 miss, so it should be roundabout what you're after.

Almost reached the second loop! If I didn't die two times with bombs in stock I could have made it.

First attempt at playing this seriously, it still has a lot of things I don't like but it has grown on me.

I've been struggling what game to play in recent days. Might as well finish the 1-ALL here as it is very close already. I need to stop getting killed by all this popcorn stuff. Their chaotic fire and their shots that ruin boss patterns are worse than most boss fights themselves for me.

Just one enemy shy of reaching the last boss. It somehow feels like I've got most things in place, just need a bit of luck - or rather less bad luck since I keep dying on ridiculous ways with full bomb stock - to get to him. The last boss on the other hand feels totally overwhelming for me as of now. The last boss part should be one of the easiest parts in the game once learned, but the rest just seems weird with all the half-aimed stuff that hits you when you're in a certain position and doesn't hit you when you're in another one.
Any pro tips here or precise positioning and dodging strategies?

Re: Strikers 45 ii
You might wanna watch some videos for tips. The 1-8 boss isn't particularly hard. Last time I played, my bomb usage for the first loop was like this (unless I lost a life with a full bomb-stock)
1 bomb - 1-6 boss last pattern
2 bombs - 1-8 boss third phase
1 bomb (if needed) - 1-8 boss last (fourth) phase
The first phase of last boss is a tap pattern. Second phase is relatively easy once you have seen a video or practiced a bit using saves. The third I haven't figured out and the fourth is simply a matter of some practice and anticipation. I use bomb on the fourth phase sometimes to avoid ruining a run sometimes.
Also haven't figured out the 1-6 last pattern although one can still enter the second loop with full stock (9 bombs) by bombing that pattern.

Re: Strikers 45 ii
Been working on this since STGT ended. The second loop of this game is so much harder than in III that it's not even funny. >_>
Figured I'd post this score since I barely managed to break 2 mil though.
ShadowWraith - 2,002,000 - F5U - 2-7 - MAME
e: also, can someone explain what happens at 4:30 in this video? http://www.nicovideo.jp/watch/sm8329627
I've never seen this before.
2e: looks like a glitch to get free points/bombs. interesting.

Re: Strikers 45 ii
Interesting, seems during a part of the boss self destruct sequence suiciding doesn't cause a reset on stats (so power-ups, bombs, lives) and when the ship respawns, yeah, he gets the full bonus for extra power-ups and bombs. Same again on 2-3. This player is doing a few odd things otherwise too, but that's a noteworthy point. Thanks for sharing and nice score.ShadowWraith wrote:Been working on this since STGT ended. So yeah, first loop in this game is really easy. I've always enjoyed this since I first played/flailed around in it, but this morning I decided to practice with save states and it really works wonders because this was my first stab at a real run after that. Definitely gonna stick with this game though and find out how far I can get into the loop, but it's gonna need practice.
