The Memor 32 memory card loaded with custom software by Memento will apparently allow your PS2 to load imports by having the card inserted on startup. No system modifications required.
I'm interested because I think I'm getting screwed on my Swap Magic order (6+ weeks) and I'm tired of watching DDP DOJ and Espgaluda rot on my shelf. This also sounds more convenient than Swap Magic.
Any experience/advice/recommended shopping locations for this setup? Does this work in either slot? Can you also use the card for save files?
Thanks.

Memor 32 / Memento Import Loading

First of all, you have to buy a Memor32 memory card to begin with. Second, you'll need to buy a PS2 Memory Card > USB adapter so you can modify what is on the memory card.
Then, you have to rip each game DVD to your PC and patch the ISO, then burn it back to a DVD-R.
In other words, this is a really awful and lazy hack, not free, and much worse than either the typical HDD loader or Flip Top.
Where'd you order your Swap Magic from that it's taking 6+ weeks?

The Memor 32 has a built-in USB port and includes custom software for copying files from your PC.
I never heard anything about burning DVDs to use this. I read that it will allow the playing of imports or burned games. I realize the link I posted was demonstrating it with a burned game, but it is my understanding that non-burned imports will also work.
Regarding Swap Magic:
I ordered Swap Magic 3.6 w/ Flip Top from www.modchip.com.
Nov 19: Placed order.
Nov 20: Ship Confirmation. "Contact us if it's not there in 8 business days."
Dec 7: Contacted them. No response.
Dec ??: Red lots of negative customer reports about this company. Worried.
Dec 28: Contacted them. Threatened to file fraud.
Jan 2: They reply, claim package was returned, checked address, and claimed to re-ship.
I'm still skeptical. Maybe the package was returned, but it's just as likely that they said this to save face.

Yeah you're right, it has a USB plug built in. Everything I've read suggests you must patch an ISO to get anything to work, doesn't seem to suggest imports will work. It's really the worst of all worlds as far as PS2 hacks go though... you have to use DVD-Rs of stuff you own (which is bad for the PS2 laser), and you don't get the improved load speed of using an HD Loader (something Ibara would probably really benefit from). Also, some PS2s will not read DVD-Rs at all and thus this exploit wouldn't work period.
Sorry if you got ripped off by a shady dealer though. Hopefully it will still show up. :I
