Thanks! I've spent a fair amount of time on the second round in white label's simulation mode on PS2, but I still found that too hard. I don't know if it's just the hitbox or what, but I find Black Label easier in most parts.

A nice improvement... full chained Stage 1, got 1408 hits on Stage 2 and carried the max multiplier most of the way through Stage 4. Still didn't 1cc, took too many risks, but hey.

Sorry, I can't capture the replay of it... things I found really helpful for scoring, though, were learning to chain Stage 1 (very helpful here is shotgunning the midboss tower ASAP to get the first hyper faster), keeping a lot of hypers for the last segment of Stage 2 so you can shoot everything and get 1k+ hits, and learning Stage 3 well enough that you can carry the max bomb bonus most of the way through that. So far those are my main scoring points, I'm still improvising through everywhere else.

Most of that score came from distance/survival rather than any particularly good chaining... maybe I'll be able to edge my way up to 200m after I get more consistent at things in the first three stages. I don't think I'll be getting any further into the second loop than 2-3 for quite a while yet, though. That stage wrecked me pretty hard.

Well, I had quite a lot of practice with WL before picking this up, but thanks. As with DDP, though, my chaining is much worse than my survival, so I don't think I'll be hitting crazy scores like a billion any time soon. :P

Well while I was mainly trying to unlock X-mode and give that a whirl on a friends recommendation. I think I might give black label some more time, its better than I gave it credit for when I first tried it. Just need to work on getting a chain to not drop because my urge to rid the screen of anything spewing bullets at me. Would have hit stage 4 if I remembered to bomb during the boss.

Finally, improvement! Could have squeezed another 5-10m out of this if I'd bombed properly on 2-2 - I died 3 times during that stage. Still, very pleased with the run, no-missed until the fourth boss and 3-missed the first loop. Might get 200m sometime if I ever get that stage 2 chain down.

Holy shit, this run came out of absolutely nowhere. No huge chains but lots of medium-sized ones combined with nabbing the bees at the right moments kicked my score up quite a lot, and it's also easily my best run in terms of survival. I doubt I'll beat this run for a very, very long time, if ever. :V Might upload the replay of it to youtube if the patch fixes them, I'm damn proud of this one.

i don't read the forum any more and rely on email notifications sent to me each time someone posts in the thread, but i don't always get them if someone posts multiple times in 1 day, or of someone posts and then goes back to edit their post. as you're making quick progress through the game, maybe try limiting yourself to posting once a week, or when you feel you have a score that you aren't gonna be beating straight away on the next couple of credits

You might be surprised. It was a pretty sloppy play. I might have chained stage 1-1 all right (probably around thirty-seven million before the boss). I probably also executed 1-3 the way I normally like to execute it, that is, in two chains, separated by the mid-boss.

My only noteworthy and point-yielding chain was probably the 2-2.

And don't sweat it; you're making rapid progress, from the looks of things.
