Twin Ikaruga Sticks

Post by bleem »

They're finally done!

seimitsu stick, seimitsu clear buttons. custom built by jaxel over at crookedjester.com.

the black stick is sanwa.

Sorry If I'm bragging, but I can't resist. It's awesome.

Dude, the whole black silhouette of 2P ship is shown and you short change 1P? For shame...

Very awesome stick.
What is the base? Is it self-made? Doesn't seem like an Agetech mod. Is it PS2 only? I'm looking into have the stick of my dreams made. I never got around to it b/c my wife banned soldering in my house. So, unless I get rid of her, I'll have to hire someone. Maybe I'll drop your buddy a line and get a quote.

The 2P ship is the best. That's the one WIZ used on his WR runs.

And anyway, 99% of the 1P ship is shown on the top.

Good to see someone else with a sense of humour. Honestly, I wouldn't care if Tenno Heika used 2P, it's butt ugly and that's that. Show respect where it's deserved, in STYLE! 8)

It is a nice stick though... (edit) and very clean wiring job too.

If you don't know and respect WIZ's ability in Ikaruga, you need to STFU. Your opinion is meaningless.

Oh and btw, get some taste! :D

Nice man! I like it a lot.

I'm actually getting an Ikaruga-themed stick made as well, at the moment. A bit simpler.

themachinist- expensive- over 200 after shipping, but I figured it was worth it with the price of the hrap2.

gaiginpunch- the base is hand made from wood.

I'm going to get a red and black one next I think >_>. there goes more precious money.

and hey- the 1 player ship is on top. BOOOO.

thinking of doing a sister stick with a black stick, black rimmed clear buttons and a black base.

Ooo, I think I've touched a nerve. Regarding respect for WIZ... maybe if he didn't break the chain in the Appreciate. Nuff said.

Nah, I was just joking around with ya.

Come on man, if you're going to make an argument at least know your facts! WIZ didn't break any chains on the Appreciate DVD. The only guy who broke a chain was SWY on Hard mode and that was in Stage 4.

Sarcasm at it's finest. Likewise for joking around.

I knew it was Stage 4, guess I forgot that very specific detail. Adding to the fact I've personally watched the whole thing no more than twice, and probably over a year ago last, oh well. Not that it changes my view on him, or more importantly on the 2P ship. Case closed.

Yes, but it's easily to doge bullets with the 2P ship, since you instantly know whether you would goes between the gaps of the bullets by looking at the tips of you ship.

I use to play with the 2P ship, but I am suck at this game...

Well I just updated the links to the images... you can find them on my new stick form:

http://www.crookedjester.com/sticks/

Or you can find them on joystick vault... (click on the images for larger pictures and the chance to post comments and ratings; and I wouldn't mind some of those! =P)

I've changed a lot about my sticks since I made these two pieces..

Now, I give people the option for 3/4 inch wood instead of 1/2 inch wood if they want it... It gives sticks a bit more heft... I've also bought a routing table, so my corners and wood bevels are absolutely perfect now; I also offer Kampfer edges as well as Roundover edges (some people want it). I also bought a drill press, so now I can use forstner bits; and with those, I can now counter-sink the system buttons! I've also redrawn my button layouts based on the drill press, so now I can get the buttons closer together.

Is that one you're making for someone, for yourself, or just to sell?

I think I might want a stick making sometime soon.

Yeah, that stick is for me. I plan on playing SFIV and other fighters on it as well as DDP DOJ and Ketsui, so it needs six buttons for sure. Plus I like mapping rapid auto to the first button on the second row, and just those three would look weird. :)

I made a widescreen desktop background from the art I put together for that stick, if anyone wants it:
edit:sorry the link expired. If you guys want it I can upload it again.

Edit 2: The design on those Ikaruga sticks were what inspired the my design for the DDP art, so it's very appropriate that it was posted in this thread :D

Could you reupload the art? It looks really slick.

Also, what are you using to get it to work with the 360? Using the guts of a Fighting Stick EX2?

It's a non common ground microsoft wireless controller with a play and charge kit (that's what the usb port in front is for). I'll upload the art shortly. I hope some other people will get some use out of it because it took a long damn time to turn the red into white on the DDPDOJBL poster art in such a high resolution.
