Two new homebrew PSP shmups to d/l for your leisure...

Post by PC Engine Fan X! »

For the record, in the annuals of PSP homebrew shmup folklore...there are only a handful of homebrew PSP shmup titles worthy of one's time and they are:

R-Gear

Callisto version 0.2

PSP rRootage version 0.4

The rest of the released shitty PSP homebrew shmup titles aren't worth the d/l and your time (like the PSP homebrew shmup title of "T.O.W. -- Time Of War" which is an isometric-stylized shmup, but gameplay-wise, is not my cup of tea when it comes to shmupping on the PSP)...

---------------------------------------

And now today, there are two new PSP shmup games worthy of your time...enjoy them at your leisure! ^_~

This homebrew PSP shmup game that goes by the name of KETM -- or is better know as "Kill Everything That Moves" has been released as the latest version simply titled -- KETM: Iron Man Edition...

This homebrew PSP shmup game title will require such a PSP with 1.50 firmware or at least the ability to play such fw1.50 emulation, homebrew, etc.

The screen format that this shmup title uses the entire 16:9 widescreen aspect ratio (in 480 x 242 resolution) and is a tate'd shmup title but presented in yoko format (similair to how Gigawing, Gigawing 2, Mars Matrix is displayed).

The really cool aspect of this particular PSP homebrew shmup title is that it allows you to customize it to your liking (like sprites, sound effects, etc.) if you don't like the default mini shmup games presented to you from the get-go..... ^_~

The second PSP homebrew shmup title is "SCS - Side Scrolling Shooter" and plays in the same vein as Gradius -- this PSP shmup game will be more right at home with the hard-core shmup community... ^_~

Please cut and paste the above link to your browser to d/l it...

FYI: You will need to d/l the latest PSP Lua Player in order to play this SCS v1.0 game though -- can't stress this part enough... ^_~

Again, SCS v1.0 requires a PSP with firmware 1.50 or higher but still has the ability to play such fw1.50 emulation + the required latest version of PSP Lua Player to boot it up..... ^_~

Thanks for the heads up, I'll check these out.

I've found that the PSP d-pad sucks for shmupping though. What about you?

Ditto!
By the way, PCEngineFanX you forgot to mention Noiz2sa for psp. It's even in tate mode from the get go! You can modify it a bit too (backgrounds, music) but it's kind of a pain to do so.
