I live in a low income neighborhood next to an abandoned house. It's not very clean where I live. You'd see a lot of trash, glass, and stray cats if I showed you a pic.

nothing specifically of the landscape but you can get the idea. also the top pictures are at a place called White Sands national monument which is a couple hourse south.

the town it self is a little run down but nothing you don't find in thousands of small towns across the country.

Oh, and the black folk, too.

And our apartment people are selling the place for condos now, which means it's good we didn't decide to renew.

It's still better than "The Other Mexico" that is Virginia... when someone insults me, I understand it. [Then again, is that really better?]

I live by a major freeway interchange. So naturally it gets dusty. It's kinda cool seeing all these cars at any time of the day. I live a couple of blocks from the main neighborhood street. Lots of restaurants, Mom/Pop shops, and a library.

I could also see the lights from Candlestick Park(the name now is Monster park, but I will always call it Candlestick). I could also see across the bay to Oakland/Alameda.

I live in a hilly area. Walking uphill sucks.

Seriously though I have a soft spot for ducks, and could watch them all day...

i can't wait to move out.

i'm probably gonna be moving to new orleans and then next year hopefully going back to school in london.

Found some half decent pics of Edinburgh here. I love this city, it's old with loads of history and the arcitecture is fantastic. It has underground vaults that was used to bury plague victims (the plague pits!!!) and a large castle slap bang in the middle of the city.
Burke & Hare the grave robbers were infamous in the old town and it was also home to Deacon Brodie who was the inspiration for Robert Louis Stevenson's Dr Jekyle & Mr Hyde.

Your joking right?
I live in a ground floor flat.
I forgot to mention that every year Edinburgh hosts a huge festival that covers film, books, theater, comedy, music & video games!
My home town in Scotland is pretty old too with the local pub dating back to 1582 and in my fathers home town there are standing stones that pre-date the Egyptian pyrimids by over a thousand years. They don't look very impressive however. Not many brits -Scots, English, Welsh or Northern Irish live in Castles. They never did.

Wheres your home town Ord?

Have you heard of a place called gairloch? I lived about 12 miles from there for about 12 years. Was 90 miles from the nearest city, Inverness. The mountain in the pic I posted was not far from my house.

^^^
A town called Banff on the North East coast, about 45 miles north of Aberdeen. It's a bit of a dive to be honest but it's an old town with a lot of history. I like Inverness a lot always have. I used to go to Elgin college which wasn't to far from Inverness.

Jeez Ord, that is some magnificant surroundings you got there. My sister visited your city 2 years ago but none of her pictures showed this beauty. Guess I must come down the some time... BTW maybe an ignorant question but isn't Roslin chappel in the neighbourhood as well?? Read about it in the Da Vinci Code and looked some stuff up on it and it looks fantastic. :)

I fucking hate canadian geese. Damned flying rats. We have thousands and thousands of these and they poop everywhere.

I would love the local government to declare open season on them.

I actually don't mind them so much except they mob and scare away the few ducks that're around.

They're pretty noisy this time of the day, also, but I'm normally just getting off work anyway.

Well, I live in Kingsville. Its a small town and mostly peacefull. There's a ghetto, but its also small and peacefull. Other things to mention would be Texas A&M University and a Navy base with a bunch of "Top Gun Maveric" wannabes zooming around the town. OH,Oh...oh...almost forgot to mention, WE HAVE A WAL-MART!!! (just one though. Really, who dosen't)
Its a great town to retire in, but if you're young and looking for certian things, you won't find em here. Example...there might only be around two or three homeless people wandering around(seriously), but even then, there are enough abandoned houses in the ghetto, so they're not really homeless...just more poor than most people.
Small town/low economy. Consider yourself lucky to have a job that pays $6.00 an hour. I currently am back doing floors again, and I'm getting $10.00/hour!!! I really cannot believe it! I feel as though it won't last and that its "too good to be true".

You can see the neighborhood I live in if you look at my car pictures. These can be found in the "Introducing the TwitchRod" thread.
