My Dreamcasts barely work. Part of the reason I switched over to MAME.

Very weird, my Dreamcast works as usual today, no problems... I hope it stays that way, but I don´t really believe it.

I know I said that I would play Giga Wing 2 first, but somehow Mars Matrix is more addicting at the moment. It´s just such an awesome game. I made some better chains today in Arcade Mode, but died too often and early. Then I tried the Arrange Mode again... which to me is really equal to the main game, absolutely great designed. Chaining seems to be a bit easier here... I played maybe 3 runs and got a quite good score on my last try.

Elite Mode is also very cool because I can use Mosquito 1 with better speed. M1 makes things a bit easier. I tried it in Arcade Mode too, but it´s too lame there (I don´t like slow ships in shooters at all...)

How about an update of my Elite Mode Score, Rob? :)
It´s not a really great effort of course, but it´s #1 for now ;)

And you may update a slight improvement of my DC Arcade Mode score (I wouldn´t post it, but it´s already some months ago, so no better scores in sight yet...)

Finally some improvement, I started playing MM again. (During the last months just some single runs...)

211,576,734,730 - 1,164,063 - Battletoad - 2 - 4

I still can´t manage the stage 4 boss, but I hope to get better chains in stage 2 and 3.

EDIT: Sorry for using the german number system, changed now...

Thanks! This shall not be the end ;)
I´ll have to concentrate on practicing single stages to get better plans for chaining. Doens´t work very well in Arcade Mode.

By the way, I´ve noticed that there are two aventus' in the Dreamcast table...

Chances are looking grim since I can't consistently do decent chaining in stages 2-4. :/
Eventually, I'll counterstop it. Eventually. I swear it.

The thought of counterstopping is too much for me.
HOWEVER, I finally all'd it and I'm happy enough.

That's good. You have about the EXP I've seen in other counterstop scores (oseiaswgi has less), but I also haven't been able to do it with that amount. Might be able to pick up some scoring tricks from videos and bring it up without increasing the EXP.

Is stage 4 giving you trouble or stage 3? Or both, maybe?

Stage 4, mainly the boss and that section before the huge ship (this thing is impossible).

For survival try to abuse very small mosquito absorbs (use like less than 5% of gauge) and abuse that small 0.5sec of invincibility every time you absorb.
